How old were you when you began to love the study of Bible prophecy?

Dr. Reagan: I first met Roberta Roberts Potts, the daughter of preacher Oral Roberts, several years ago when I started speaking at a Bible prophecy conference in Tulsa that is held annually and sponsored by the ministry of Phillip Goodman. Roberta was always at these conferences and she often played the piano during the breaks between speakers. I found out that she and her husband Ron live in the Tulsa area where she is a practicing attorney. I also learned that she has been a life-long student of Bible prophecy.

Roberta Potts: While I had what church folks called “memory verses” as a little girl, I began studying the Bible in depth when I was a teenager. I loved Bible prophecy then and now. I remember having this big chart of all the coming events described in Revelation, Daniel, and other parts of the Bible. Many times when I had invited a friend to spend the night at my house I would spread out my chart on the bed and teach my friend everything I knew, or at least what I thought I knew, about Bible prophecy. My mother would inevitably spy the light coming from beneath the bedroom door during the early morning hours and assume that we were giggling, or perhaps talking about boys as was the custom of most girls. Well, we did that too.

Dr. Reagan: I can well imagine! It’s suddenly dawned on me that you have been teaching Bible prophecy longer than I have. I didn’t get started until 1980. You were long doing it long before that.

Now, tell me, what got you interested in Bible prophecy? And, what has sustained your interest in it over in the years?

Roberta Potts: To begin with, it was the drama. It is so dramatic. The thought that these demonic locusts could come out of this terrible pit of Hell and come sting you and everything. I thought, “Wow, that’s really exciting!” So, when I was a teenager I just thought that was the coolest thing ever.

Now, as an adult, I still love the drama of Bible prophecy, but I also love it because honestly it helps me deal with the news. It helps me deal with the direction the world is going in. The world is getting darker and darker. It’s changed so much from the time I was on the bed teaching my friends, thinking I understood Bible prophecy when I didn’t. Yes, it’s gotten so much darker. And yet, the Scripture says that prophecy is a light in a dark place. When you understand the promises of God for the future you can deal with some of the things that we’re seeing happening in our world today.

Dr. Reagan: I want to tell you something. I think that your interest in prophecy as a teenager had to have come from the Lord. It had to because most people I run into today tell me they are terrified of Bible prophecy and that it scares them to death. But, I keep on saying, “Hey, there’s a lot of bad news in Bible prophecy, but there’s only good news for those who know the Lord.”

Roberta Potts: That’s exactly right!

Dr. Reagan: I had a guy write me one time who said, “I don’t like prophecy because it’s all about scary things that go bump in the dark.” But, you found it fascinating?

Roberta Potts: That’s what’s fun about it.

Dr. Reagan: Well, let me ask you this question. You make it very clear throughout your book that your dad was a very, very focused man.

Roberta Potts: Yes, he was.

Dr. Reagan: His focus was on evangelism and healing. Did he ever show any interest in prophecy? Did he ever preach about prophecy?

Roberta Potts: Oh, yes, absolutely. He was very interested in prophecy. In fact, he wrote no less than three books about prophecy.

Dr. Reagan: Is that right? I didn’t know that.

Roberta Potts: Yes, the most well known would probably be the book called The Drama of the End Time. Just a few years before he passed away, in fact I think it was the last time he heard God’s voice speak to him, was what God referred to as a wake-up call. He felt the Lord was speaking to him saying, “The Church is not ready for the coming of the Lord. Pastors are not teaching Bible prophecy. People are not talking about the promises that are in the Scripture.” And, Dad was very concerned. The problem was by that time he was like 88 or something and so he no longer had the avenue to get the message out like he wanted. He was very frustrated. He got to preach that message in a few churches, but not as many as he wanted to. He wanted to get that message out that we need to prepare for the coming of the Lord.

Dr. Reagan: It’s an important message and its one that God has laid on my heart. It’s what Lamb & Lion Ministries is all about — preaching the soon coming of Jesus.

Roberta Potts: I’m so grateful for what you are doing for the Lord, Dr. Reagan. That you’re getting that message out.

Dr. Reagan: Well, we’re trying.

In the next segment of my interview with Roberta Roberts Potts, she will answer a series of questions concerning Bible prophecy, beginning with: “Do you believe we are living in the season of the Lord’s return?”

  • You can actually plant the seeds of Bible prophecy interest in a young mind early on. I remeber being about 7 or 8 years old when there were TV commercials featuring Hal Lindsay talking about The Late Great Planet Earth. The one thing that burned into my young brain was him talking about "the Rapture". The Rapture? What's that. I would seek out Lindsay's book when I was about 20 years old and thus the planted seed suddenly sprouted and grew.

  • The woman of Rev 12 is now here. She is not a church, she is not Israel, and she is not Mary. She is the prophet like unto Moses and Elijah Matt 17:3, Acts 3:21-23, Luke 1:17 delivering the true word John 1:1 from the wilderness to prepare a people for the Lord’s return. God our Father will not put any child of his into a hell fire no matter what their sins. It never entered the heart or mind of God to ever do such a thing Jer7:31, Jer 19:5. Turn your heart to the children of God. A gift is now delivered to the whole world as a witness Matt 24:14. http://minigoodtale.wordpress.com Prove all things. Prophecy is being fulfilled.

  • Val, concerning your interpretations of the Bible, you're confused on many levels. The woman of Revelation 12 is Israel because she gives birth to the Messiah.

As for God's intentions in sending people to Hell, your source verses are about pagan sacrifices and have nothing to do with Hell. According to the Bible, those not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life are all who remain in rebellion against God, including Satan, his demons, the Antichrist and False Prophet. They are judged at the end of time at what’s called the Great White Throne Judgment and will be cast into the Lake of Fire, also called the “Second Death” (Rev. 20-21). So, these unbelievers died once, but going to Hell is like a second death.

  • As there is no new Revelation, I do not believe that God spoke to Oral Roberts. It doesn’t tally with what we have been told in Scripture. Neither does saying We NEED to prepare, that’s a timing of the rapture, because it ceases to be imminent if something, anything, has to happen first such as the right ‘season’ or being 'properly' prepared.

Both views put brakes on the Rapture. We are told to look up, and keep looking up with expectancy for Jesus’ any moment, sign-less return.
It is plain in Scripture that a prophet is false if his prophesy's do not come to pass – and that HAS to mean within a short period of time or otherwise the ‘test’ would be invalid.

Those OT and NT prophesy’s that are still to be fulfilled were given by men chosen by God to forth tell and write down HIS declared Word in the Bible. The Canon is closed, all ‘extra’s are EXTRA Biblical and false.

Ready or not, Jesus is coming IMMINENTLY.
