The Wonders of the Millennial Kingdom: The Last Revolt

The Truth Will Set You Free

When will Mankind’s last revolt against God occur?

On June 25, 2014, I was interviewed by Vic Batista, senior pastor of the Miami-based Calvary Chapel Aventura on his radio program “The Truth Will Set You Free” via TWave Radio. “Pastor Vic” (as he likes to be called) was born in the Dominican Republic and is as active in planting churches and helping orphans there as he is in southern Florida, reaching out with the Good News of Jesus Christ to both the English and Spanish speaking audiences.

In this “The Truth Will Set You Free” episode, we discuss how wonderful life will be during Christ’s thousand year reign. The first half of the discussion is in English, while the second half is translated into Spanish.

Mankind’s Last Revolt

Vic: Nathan, are there some Old Testament passages concerning the Millennial Kingdom that you’d want to share with us? I know there’s a lot to be revealed in these passages of the Old Testament.

Nathan: You can go through almost any of the books written by the Old Testament prophets and they will reveal even more information about the Millennial Kingdom.

For instance, Ezekiel talks about how God will rule with justice. Take note that people who are going into the Millennial Kingdom are coming in their earthly bodies. Therefore, the sin nature is still a part of their makeup. Even though there will be far less sinning in the world and Satan won’t be tempting people and all human government will be the government of Jesus Christ, people will still sin. Jesus rules with a rod of iron. It says He executes judgment on all who scorn those around them. In other words, people will sin during the Millennial Kingdom, but not in the amount like they do today. Unfortunately, that’s a side effect of our earthly bodies.

Many wonder how Jesus can offer a paradise where the curse is pretty much lifted, but then we read in Revelation 20 that at the very end Satan is released. People surprised ask, “Why in the world, God, would you release Satan from the Pit?” Well, in that passage we see that Satan is a rallying point for those who want to reject Jesus.

See, even in the Millennial Kingdom people get a choice to choose Jesus or not. Sadly, we read about quite a large multitude by the end who are born into the Millennial Kingdom will reject Jesus. They’ll team up with Satan and try to attack Jesus in Jerusalem. But, the passage says that Jesus with just a word melts His enemies. He then sends Satan to the Lake of Fire, which is Hell.

You see, there’s no beating Jesus. He’s number one. He’s the most powerful of them all. Still, it’s sad to read that even in a utopian society like the Millennial Kingdom, people will still want to disobey and rebel, which is sin. They’ll gnash their teeth at the thought of Jesus telling them what they can and cannot do. When Satan is let loose, quite a number of those born in that age take the opportunity to rebel against God. That will be the last war the Earth will See, which is called the Second War of Gog and Magog. It happens at the end of the Millennial Kingdom. It also shows the sad state of humanity, and proves that we in our fallen nature still need a Savior.

Vic: That is truly the heart of the matter here. You just made an excellent point that even in the time of the Millennium people are going to rebel against Jesus. It amazes me, because people today blame Satan for everything, and yet we’re there’s going to come a time when Satan will be bound and individuals are still going to rebel. Rebellion is a matter of the heart, and only Jesus can change the heart of a person.

Nathan: Exactly! You cannot change yourself by doing good works or thinking good thoughts. What you need is a new heart. You are like a zombie — the walking dead — and you need a new heart for a new life. When Jesus died on the cross, He made that new life possible. When we believe in Jesus as our Savior, He promises to give us that new heart and that new life. We were dead, but we are now alive and our sins are forgiven! We are cleansed and we are holy before the Father.

In the eternal state, we get to go back to that perfect relationship with the Father, just like it was in the Garden of Eden. There is where we walked and talked and had fellowship with God. That’s really what the eternal state is going to be like. We’ll get to reign and live with Jesus during the Millennial Kingdom and eventually into the eternal state. After the Millennial Kingdom, we’ll see our Father God and live with Him throughout eternity. We’ll see humanity come full circle back to the Garden of Eden.

Vic: That’s awesome! And that’s why we encourage everyone to get into a personal relationship with the Lord. Don’t miss out, because time is running out. We believe that the Lord could come at any moment for His Church, and we don’t want anyone to be left behind.

Grabbing Hold of the Wonders

Nathan, there may be someone who is straddling the fence about accepting Jesus as Savior? What would you say to them in terms of them getting a relationship with the Lord?

Nathan: All of life is about our relationship with the Lord. Through free-will God gives us a choice. We can choose to reject Him and say, “I’m going to live my own way. I’m going to do whatever I want.” But, in doing that we hurt ourselves and those around us. Our lives will end up a wreck.

What a disaster to still be under the judgment for our sins, which is Hell! We’re all born destined for Hell, but God doesn’t want that for humanity, so he made the only way for us to be freed of the judgment of Hell. As Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except by me.” Jesus wants us to be saved, and He made the way by dying in our place. He sacrificed His life for us. When we believe in Him as Savior, when we accept His sacrifice in faith, then He gives us that new life and that new promise. That’s a tremendous hope!

I recommend going to our ministry’s website at lamblion.com. There you’ll find a large number of our “Christ in Prophecy” TV shows and articles on the Millennial Kingdom. We sadly don’t have enough time here to touch on how awesome the Millennial Kingdom is going to be, but you can learn more on our website.

Let me just tell you that the Millennial Kingdom is going to be a time like no other. The Lord promises that those who are faithful to Him in this life will get to rule and reign with Him during the Millennial Kingdom and into the eternal state. For example, Pastor Vic, you may get to be the mayor of Miami. I may teach at a Bible college. The Lord has plans for us to serve and to teach and to rule with Him.

After the Millennial Kingdom comes the eternal state. It says in 1 Corinthians 2:9 that we cannot imagine what the future holds for us, because it’s beyond imagination. It’s that wonderful! If you don’t get any hope from knowing the wonders that lie ahead for you in the Millennial Kingdom, then you really can’t get hope from anything.

Vic: That’s the reason we’re so excited, because we know what wonderful things await us. We don’t have to be fearful of the dark days ahead. We don’t have to fear the bad economy or what the government roles out against our freedoms. We only need to put our trust in Jesus Christ.

Nathan, maybe there’s someone out there who doesn’t know how to start a relationship with the Lord. What would you say to them on how they can begin that relationship with Jesus?

Nathan: I would tell them to accept Jesus in faith. Pray out of the depths of your heart, “Dear, Lord Jesus, please forgive me of my sins and be my Savior.” Jesus promises that He will forgive your sins and He will get rid of that guilt. He’ll give you that new life, and you will become an heir to the promises of a new life with Jesus forever in the Millennial Kingdom and then in the eternal state with Him.
