Is the Super Sign Israel related to the Blood Moons?

I was recently interviewed by Vic Batista, senior pastor of the Miami-based Calvary Chapel Aventura on his radio program “The Truth Will Set You Free” via TWave Radio. “Pastor Vic” (as he likes to be called) was born in the Dominican Republic and is as active in planting churches and helping orphans there as he is in southern Florida, reaching out with the Good News of Jesus Christ to both the English and Spanish speaking audiences.

In this “The Truth Will Set You Free” episode, we’ll marvel at how Israel being a nation again fulfills one of the most prolific prophecies in all the Old Testament.

The Super Sign

Vic: Nathan, you mentioned the return of Israel as a nation is a “Super Sign.” Mid-August of 2014 we experienced a Super Moon, right?

Nathan: Yes, and a lot of people have written into our ministry asking, “Does the Super Moon have any significance or importance?” Matthew 24 does say that as we get into the end times, especially referring to the Tribulation, there will be signs in the heavens to look at, “signs in the sun, moon and stars,” But, super moons are just rotational. They happen pretty regularly, so I don’t believe it was a sign.

People ask, “What about these Blood Moons?” When they describe the moon as a Blood Moon, what they mean is that the moon looks kind of blood red because of its position in the atmosphere and because of a lunar eclipse. They also want to know if there’s significance when the Blood Moons happen in tetrads, which means occurrences in fours.

Do these Blood Moons have any meaning? I honestly don’t know. Really, if four recurring Blood Moons are an end times sign in the skies, It might be, it might not. We’ll just have to wait and see.

What we do know is during this Tribulation that’s coming on the world — the seven years of God’s judgment and wrath upon the world, there will definitely be signs in the sky, including the moon turning red like blood. I assume again it’s because the atmosphere is blocking some light waves, but the redness could be because of all the wars which will throw a lot of particle particulates into the atmosphere. The light from the sun will decrease. A third of the day will be darkened and the stars won’t be as visible during that time.

There will definitely be signs in the sky during the Tribulation, but the main sign for the Church today, which are those of us living here now, is that Israel is a nation again. That’s extremely important.

Vic: I hope people will recognize that there’s so much more here with Israel returning and the signs in the sky than meets the eye. We want to encourage people to keep their eyes on the Lord and the word of God, and not to get side-tracked from the everyday distractions, because that’s what the enemy wants.

Nathan: It’s so easy to be distracted. We just live our lives and there’s a lot of stuff that concerns us and distracts us. But, when you read Bible Prophecy, you get the big picture. You get the overall view of God’s plan. When you glimpse God’s plan, you get what’s called an eternal perspective. All of the sudden, you know how the world’s going to end. You know that Jesus is coming back to earth to rule and reign with peace and justice and righteousness. You realize just how important your salvation is.

Choosing Christ is the most important decision you’ll ever make, because it’s an eternal decision. All of life comes into focus when we have an eternal perspective.

Realizing Whom They’ve Pierced

Vic: Zachariah 12:10 says, “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.” Nathan, can you expand a little more on that passage in regards to the miracle that is the regathering of the nation of Israel?

Nathan: Sure. The Jews are being regathered back into Israel a second time from all around the world — the Super Sign pointing to Jesus’ imminent return. There’s about six million Jews now in Israel, and the other half of the population lives primarily in the United States.

Once the Jews are back in Israel again, a number of prophetic wars are predicted. Israel will likely have to subdue their hostile neighbors as Psalm 83 describes. Then there’s the giant war called the Gog-Magog War of Ezekiel 38 and 39. God’s victory through that war will cause all the remaining Jews of the world to regather back into Israel. The regathering of the Jews into Israel will be complete.

Following the total regathering, the world will experience seven year of tribulation. God’s wrath falls upon the earth. It’s the time period God uses to judge the world for its wickedness. It’s also a time to bring many people to salvation. And, it’s also a time to get the Jewish people to finally turn their hearts and acknowledge Jesus Christ as Messiah. They’ll have to depend on Him to survive the Tribulation.

The regathered Jews will rebuild the Temple during that time. As a matter of fact, the Temple Institute has already got everything ready to build the Temple. After Gog-Magog, the Jews will give their heart to God, but not necessarily to His son, Jesus Christ. They won’t do that until Jesus returns at the very end of those seven years. When they see Jesus return at His Second Coming, a third of the Jewish people who survived the horrors of that time will turn their hearts to Jesus and accept Him as Savior. Jesus in Matthew 23:39 revealed, “for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!'”

The New Greatest Miracle

Nathan: Back to Jeremiah 16:14-15, it says, “‘Therefore behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that it shall no more be said, “The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,” but, “The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.” For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers.'”

Think about it. Up until today, the Jewish people had been saying the greatest thing that God ever did for them was to rescue them from four hundred years of slavery in Egypt. But, going forward, the Jews will look back to Israel being regathered from the nations of the world and they’ll say that’s the greatest thing God ever did for them. We are living in that time!

Vic: Wow, that is super exciting! Nathan, that’s why I wish we had a lot more time to expound on all the different events that are going on so that we can show individuals that are living in the end times. The regathering of Israel is happening this very day. We are starting to see it steamroll forward.

In the sixth and last part of this discussion with Pastor Vic on the Jews regathering back into Israel, we’ll look at the lengths God will go to get the Jewish people to accept Jesus as Messiah.
