The Mighty Angels of Daniel 11: Trouble from the East

MP3: The Mighty Angels of Daniel 11 Forebode
Hosts: Nathan Jones & Vic Batista

Trouble from the East

Vic Batista: As we come to the end of Daniel 11, verse 44 reveals bad news for the Antichrist from the Far East. “But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many.”

Today Asia, especially China, plays a larger and more important role in world affairs. And, by the end of the seven-year Tribulation, Asia fulfills a vital prophetic role.

Nathan Jones: How amazing that for such a large and populous area, East Asia is almost never mentioned in the Bible. Except for Daniel 11:44 and Revelation 16:12, East Asia is shrouded in silence. In these verses the Kings of the East are finally revealed. An Asian empire, possibly consisting of India, China, Japan, Indonesia and other Eastern nations, ban together in one desperate attempt to overthrow the Antichrist and finally be done with his vaingloriously inept leadership.

Vic Batista: East Asia contains billions of people. Even after the Tribulation judgments have halved the world’s population, just imagine how massive the remnant in Asia still would be. Picture them all massing together to wage a war never seen before, and that’s saying a lot, considering the number of world wars waged during the Tribulation.

Nathan Jones: As bad as World War I and World War II were, and as awful as the wars the Antichrist will wage resulting in decimating the world’s population, Asia will still be able to assemble a 200-million man army. By this point late in the Tribulation, almost everybody left alive on the planet are either trying to kill each other or the Antichrist. If Jesus didn’t step in with His Second Coming, as He foretold, there would be no people left alive.

Vic Batista: Daniel 11:45 finally provides some great news, because we learn that the enemy is going to meet his end. “And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.”

Nathan Jones: I’ve been to the Valley of Jezreel and was amazed by its size. Napoleon once said that the valley could field the world’s armies there. The land’s a farming community now, including an Israeli air force base located in the base of a mountain. In the future, though, the Antichrist’s armies engage the Kings of the East’s armies, and they are going to begin destroying each other in that valley. But, when Jesus returns as a warrior king, the warring factions stop their infighting and combine in their attempt to take on Jesus directly. What a mess Armageddon is going to be!

Vic Batista: Daniel 11:45 parallels the close of Revelation 19 and 20 which tells of the ultimate end of Satan himself.

Nathan Jones: We’ve reached the ultimate end of Satan’s government through the Antichrist and his False Prophet. Satan does make another showing until at the end of the Millennial Kingdom, but that is a different story.

Vic Batista: Daniel encourages people with the good news of the reality that God is on His throne. God still maintains His wonderful plan for mankind, but first the world must be purged of Satan’s earthly rebellion.

Nathan Jones: God is looking for the faithful. He wants all people to be saved, but He allows them to choose. We can trust in the Son of God as our Savior by repenting of our sins and making Him Lord of our lives, or we can reject Christ’s love and in doing so unwittingly join Satan’s rebellion. In the end, the choice will be that black and white.

There’s Good News

Vic Batista: Question for you: Where are you in your relationship with Jesus as your eternal Savior?

Do you believe that if Jesus Christ were to return in the next week or so that you would be raptured and wouldn’t be left behind? Are you secure in the knowledge that when you die that because you’ve trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior you would be going to Heaven?

Jesus Christ gives people hope in the midst of life’s difficulties. In our study of Daniel, we’ve learned that the Tribulation is going to be a time period like no period that came before. The horrors the world will endure will be unimaginable. Terrible events are going to happen fast. But, God has opened a window in our day that will allow people to be able to escape from all of God’s wrath to come.

Nathan Jones: Indeed, God has promised that His wrath shall never befall those who are His children. The Tribulation is all about God’s wrath from the very First Seal Judgment that Jesus opens all the way to the Seventh Bowl Judgment. The 21 judgments of God epitomize His wrath upon the world for its sins, but that wrath also forces many around the world to repent, including a Jewish remnant. Untold multitudes will turn to Jesus as Savior during that time and long for Jesus to return in victory. All of that the Tribulation accomplishes.

The Tribulation was never meant for those who have accepted Jesus as Savior in our time period. We are promised the Rapture of the Church. The Apostle Paul taught in 1 Corinthians 15 and 1 Thessalonians 4 that Jesus will come and call believers in Him up to the clouds and and to Heaven. Those saved will be raptured — caught up, taken up — off this earth to meet the Lord up in the clouds and then we will dwell with the Lord in Heaven forever.

Place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior. Then pray from your heart something like, “Dear, Jesus, please forgive me of my sins and be my Lord and Savior.” Jesus promises to do just that. He will forgive you of your sins. He will take away your guilt. He will establish your future where you will life forever with Him in glory.

Vic Batista: And that is the Good News of Jesus Christ.

All of these prophetic events we’ve been reading about in Daniel, they are going to happen. As a matter of fact, they are here even now, ready for us to read about in the daily news. The foundations of the Tribulation are being laid in our day.

If you know Jesus Christ as your Savior, then we encourage you to move quickly in making a difference in this world before all of the opportunities the Church was commissioned to do are gone. Don’t lose out on the eternal rewards earned from using your spiritual gifts and natural talents in the Lord’s service.

We want to encourage you to draw close to the Lord in prayer and spend time with Him by reading your Bible. Know then that God loves you and He has a wonderful plan for your life.

The first segment of this series on the mighty angels of Daniel began with a tragic back story. In the seventy-fifth segment, we’ll end with the final chapter in our study of Daniel — Chapter 12.
