Does it seem like the world is descending into lawlessness, anarchy, and chaos?
Nathan Jones: Jan Markell, founder of Olive Tree Ministries and the hostess of the “Understanding the Times” radio program, says that the spirit of the Antichrist has been unleashed. Along with Dr. David Reagan and myself, Jan contributed her chapter about the spirit of the Antichrist to Terry James’ latest book titled Lawless: End Times War Against the Spirit of Antichrist. Jan has joined us to explain her very important chapter, one which leads the book as the first chapter.
So, Jan, please tell us, what is the spirit of the Antichrist?
Jan Markell: I’ve watched the spirit of the Antichrist be unleashed in probably two dozen cities across the world over the last year or so. Interestingly enough, I operate in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where I believe the worst of it started back in May of 2020 with the George Floyd incident. From there it skipped from city to city. Cities in Australia, and parts of Europe, and all over the world, witnessed people demonstrating. We all saw the lawlessness, the turmoil, and the downright rebellion against any kind of authority displayed in these demonstrations.
I believe that lawlessness was all part of the spirit of Antichrist that’s been unleashed by the Devil because he knows his time is short. The globalist empire, headed by the World Economic Forum and other shadowy organizations, is in high gear getting its one-world system going. This Antichrist spirit had to be unleashed so that the globalists could play off of this incident to further their agenda.
Nathan Jones: So, it seems like the definition of the spirit of the Antichrist then is lawlessness, a rebellion against authority, and a desire to rebuild the world into a global empire, so to speak, is that correct?
Jan Markell: Yes. And, that end times system has been outlined in the Bible. It started in Babel and it’s gone right through society for 5,000 years. Today it is characterized by the Deep State, by secret societies, by the open borders crowd, international bankers, the Media, Marxist groups, Socialist groups, the religious Left, and so on. George Soros continues to fund radical environmental outfits. Bill Gates and others are pushing for the global distribution of vaccines. All of these entities have come together, I would say, just in the last ten years, but really accumulated in the last year primarily because of COVID-19. The pandemic provided the opportunity that they just couldn’t let go to waste. These globalists took advantage of this COVID crisis, and my goodness, we now appear to have a global government approaching right over the horizon.
Nathan Jones: What do you believe are the steps they are taking in their agenda that will end up creating a global government?
Jan Markell: They’ve certainly used expanded government. That’s kind of why I was not surprised to see the loss of Donald Trump in the 2020 election. I’m saddened by it because he was an “America first” leader. The globalists’ number one goal for the last four years was to get Trump out of the picture because he is an ardent nationalist and not a globalist. Trump said at the United Nations in 2016, “I am here to look out for Pittsburg, not Paris.” That was a signal to the globalists that he was not going to play their game.
Besides the expansion of government, other tactics they are going to use involves socialized medicine, gun control, higher taxes, population reduction, open border immigration, environmentalism, increasing the debt, class warfare, the removal of Christians, and the destruction of the nuclear family. These are just some of the tactics, and there are probably 20 or 30 more, which the globalist are using to create, in their eyes, a perfect one-world system. It will inevitably fail. They won’t see that until it is too late.
Nathan Jones: It’s interesting how these globalists cloak their agenda for a one-world system. They offer safety and security, such as protecting us all from COVID. They espouse multiculturalism and environmentalism. And, on the surface, it all sounds wonderful. Youth will write in to Lamb & Lion Ministries asking, “Socialism sure sounds wonderful. After all, don’t we want to protect our environment and share the wealth?” But, those cloak a bigger agenda, right, to get us to that one-world government that will eventually be ruled by the Antichrist?
Jan Markell: Yes. And what we are going to see with the new Biden administration in Washington is that they are already trying to get people to become dependent on the government. Actually, to become very, very dependent on a new Socialist system here in America, so that they can then move the world farther into globalism, which is disheartening.
Can we turn this agenda around? Maybe. Maybe God intends for this to be just a short season of their efforts, but I don’t think so. I think a global government is right over the horizon.
But, do you know what has to happen first? The Church has to be removed from this earth before there can be any form of global government.
Nathan Jones: Amen! I love Psalm 2 which reads:
“Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His anointed One saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces, and cast away their cords from us…'” (And here is God’s response in verse 4) “…He who sits in the heavens shall laugh, the Lord holds them in derision.”
So, it seems like when man plans, God laughs. Why? Because He knows that no matter how much human governments strive together to overthrow God and His moral law, Jesus Christ will return, and when He does, Jesus will defeat that satanic global government. He will set up His own kingdom of peace and righteousness and justice that will last for a thousand years and then on into the Eternal State. So, there is hope, right?
Jan Markell: Absolutely, there’s hope! For the Christian, there is ultimate hope. Christians should not be discouraged by anything that we see going on, even in the news, though it may be very dark these days. Rather, we have a glorious future! That glorious future is totally outlined in the Bible. I encourage Christians to hold fast to the Bible, particularly as times grow dark.
Nathan Jones: Thank you, Jan, good advice! We may be living in dark times, but Christians have access to the ultimate source of hope — Jesus Christ. We can read His words in the Bible, for that is where our source of comfort rests. I recommend reading Psalm 2 because it tells us that God has everything in control and that evil will fail. Also, read Daniel 2, because Daniel prophesied the end of human government with the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His Millennial government. Therefore, you can look up and be watchful, knowing that our redemption is drawing near.
