One of my former colleagues at Lamb & Lion Ministries, Dr. Nathan E. Jones, has published a new book on the Millennium, and it is an excellent one!
I was not surprised at how comprehensive, informative, and true-to-the-Scriptures the book is from start to finish. I say that because these have been the characteristics of Nathan’s previous two books. Nathan’s first book was 12 Faith Journeys of the Minor Prophets (2016). It was the best book on the Minor Prophets I have ever read—and I have read them all.
His second book, titled, The Mighty Angels of Revelation, consisted of a very unique look at the types and roles of the angels that are so prevalent throughout the last book of the Bible. It was also illustrated with fascinating full-page drawings of each of the major angels.
I personally believe that Nathan has emerged as one of the finest interpreters of Bible prophecy on the scene today. He avoids the mindless exaggerations, speculations, and sensationalisms that characterize so much of prophecy writing today. He sticks to the Scriptures as justification for all his interpretations, which are based on the plain sense meaning of each text.
Nathan’s book on the Millennium is desperately needed in Christendom today because most churches completely ignore the teaching and preaching of Bible prophecy. And the majority of those that do give the topic any attention are Amillennial—meaning they believe we are living in the Millennium now and there is never going to be a literal one-thousand year reign of Jesus on this earth in the future, despite the fact that such a reign is clearly taught in both the Old and New Testaments. The Amillennial churches just explain away the meaning of all the Millennial scriptures by claiming that they should be spiritualized into referring to the reign of Jesus over His Church right now.
Nathan uses Scripture to demolish the Amillennial viewpoint. I hope many Amillennials will take Nathan’s message to heart because belief in a future Millennium provides great hope and consolation to believers in the increasingly dark times in which we are currently living.
