Hopes were high among avid prophecy pundits that the Rapture would occur in September 2025, near the Feast of Trumpets. I do not begrudge those who are hopeful for Jesus to return; Lamb & Lion Ministries has been proclaiming the imminence of His coming for 45 years. But the fact that we’re still here demonstrates the fallacy of the date-setters.
The reality is that as fears multiply—of rising threats, of growing evil, and of gathering gloom—hopes that have been growing for almost 2,000 years seem close enough to touch. Those who live expecting Jesus to come will keep hoping until the trumpet sounds, the archangel shouts, and He breaks from the heavens.
In the long years prior to His first Advent, there was growing Messianic fervor. Jews, tired of foreign oppression and eager to see God’s promises to Israel fulfilled, were “looking for the redemption of Israel” (Luke 2:38). Those waiting for a military commander or a political prince missed the arrival of the Baby born in Bethlehem.
Even today, many clamor for heaven on earth while rejecting the One Who already came from Heaven as Immanuel—God with us. Others seek a savior to right the world’s wrongs, but deny their own sin and refuse to be subject to a Lord.
Christ’s return is indeed imminent. The signs pointing to His soon return are multiplying and converging. His Light will pierce the darkness—rescuing those who have trusted in Him and unleashing the wrath of God on those who are left behind. It is that great sifting that is causing hopes and fears alike to multiply.
Once again, “the hopes and fears of all the years” are met in Jesus Christ—the Holy One of Israel.
