The Christ in Prophecy Journal

Help Please

I am so blessed to have so many learned fellow Bible prophecy students interacting on this forum and in the Christ in Prophecy Facebook group. Each of you in your comments and discussions interject so much insight and good fellowship into each and every topic.

I’d really like to add your input into a Bible prophecy conference I am putting together. Though a whole year away, now’s the time to begin laying the foundations.

The theme will be “What the Future Holds” and we’ll be tackling a range of end time era topics such as the Tribulation, the Millennial Kingdom, Eternity, After Death, and so on. In this area, if you were to come to this conference:

  • What topics would you like to hear?

This Bible prophecy conference, though open to all ages, will be more focused on young adults ages teen to 40. Because this group has specific childcare needs, we’ll be offering childcare (say Baby-3rd) for either or both the Friday night and all day Saturday sessions. We’ll even have a special Bible prophecy session that’s kids only! In this area, I’d like to know:

  • What are your thoughts on a kid’s session led by a gifted Elementary pastor?

Most teachers who specifically concentrate on Bible prophecy tend to be older gentlemen. For this conference, I’m looking for a new generation of accomplished preachers to come and speak from a Pre-Mil, Pre-Trib point of view. In this area, I’d like to know:

  • What gifted young preachers who hold fast to these end time views would you like to see come and speak?

We’ll open Friday night with a worship concert and have music between the sessions on Saturday. In this area, I’d like to know:

  • What 20-something’s Christian group moves you in worship?

Location is everything, and I’m working on nailing down a large, happening church that has the facilities to handle a thousands plus crowd, has a place to hang like a coffee shop, and offers an inviting childcare area. For logistical reasons, we’ll be holding it in the Dallas region. In this area, I’d like to know:

  • Any places you would recommend?

Your feedback in the Comments section below is invaluable and most appreciated! I hope each of you can attend as well should we still be waiting for the Lord to return.

  • well, for starters, most teens-mid20s dont even know what basic terms like "rapture" "gog/magog" and "millineum" even mean and im talking about christians raised in church and youth groups. i`d take the 1st night and define terms and give a basic outline of things to come and from there dig deeper and deeper. as for young worship bands the names i think of right off the bat are lincoln brewster, chris tomlin and toby mac. i can easily do more research and get back to you tho.

  • I live in West Australia and can't come, unfortunately, but I do agree with hartdowg's suggestion about getting teens up to speed on end time terms and concepts — maybe you should have a pamphlet to hand out at the door, perhaps?
The only other thing I can think to add at this time is that I hope you youtube the speakers for us poor folk down under!!!!

  • Nathan,

I'm no professional but I did teach Sunday School at Jr. & Sr. High levels for a time. They seem to respond to visuals pretty well as opposed to just speaking.

I would suggest some video clips might spark interest. One that really got me was by Final Act Productions re: the Rapture. A preacher is saying Jesus could return at any moment and suddenly alomost everyone disappears with a loud thunderclap type noise. It was used in a Lamb & Lion DVD program once so maybe you still have access to a good copy of it.

Don't know if this helps but there's an idea anyway.

    Hope it goes well.

  • I thought the "Jesus Came, What's Next" video was pretty good. If you could make a version for teens and twenty-somethings, that could go over good.

Maybe try to get artists they know to get involved with the production.

  • actually, i think the video is fine the way it is. what you should do, however, is send copies of it to all the youthgrouos, christian schools and colleges in the region with a promo for the conference at the end of it
