What are some of the key events of the Tribulation?
[Note: This and other questions sent in to Lamb & Lion Ministries about the Tribulation were answered by Dr. David Reagan, Nathan Jones, and Tim Moore on our television program Christ in Prophecy.]
Tim Moore: The first and most important key event occurs at the beginning of the Tribulation and that will be when the Antichrist signs a peace treaty, or covenant, with Israel. I believe this covenant will allow the Jews to rebuild their temple.
Dr. Reagan: So, you are saying the Rapture is not the event that marks the beginning of the Tribulation?
Tim Moore: No, the Rapture I strongly believe happens before the Tribulation begins. The Rapture will proceed that seven-year Tribulation time period. The event that actually starts the Tribulation timeline happens upon the signing of that peace treaty. That treaty marks to the day when then the seven-year countdown to Jesus’ return begins.
Tim Moore: I strongly believe happens before the #Tribulation begins. The #Rapture will proceed that seven-year Tribulation time period. #BibleProphecy Click To TweetExactly halfway through the Tribulation the Antichrist will renege on his commitment to the Jewish people. He will come to the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem and desecrate it by declaring himself to be God. And, of course, the Jews will certainly not like that, and so they will rebel and flee.
But, before the Antichrist desecrates the Temple, there are two major series of judgments that will befall the earth, called the Seal and Trumpet Judgments. Of course, I’m kind of giving just a quick overview here, but the Seal and Trumpet Judgments serve as an outpouring of God’s wrath upon the entire world. These fourteen judgments will lead up to that half-way mark when the Antichrist turns his attention from conquering the world back to the Jewish people who will refuse to accept him as their Messiah after he declares himself to be God.
Dr. Reagan: What events happen after that?
Tim Moore: The second 3.5 years of the Tribulation will include the Bowl Judgments. These seven horrific judgments will be poured out by the angels upon the Antichrist and his followers at the same time he turns all of his wrath against the Jewish people and Tribulation Saints.
Dr. Reagan: As soon as the Jews reject him as their Messiah, the Antichrist goes after them with great wrath, and so many of the Jews will flee Israel and hide in the wilderness.
Tim Moore: They may flee Israel, but they are protected, as the Scripture says, by the “wings of an eagle,” meaning the Holy Spirit. The final moment of the Tribulation, what really marks the very end of those seven terrible years, is when Jesus Christ returns. I’m giving just some key points, and obviously, I could get into much greater detail, but that’s a survey of the events that happen during the Tribulation.
Dr. Reagan: Another Tribulation event that should be mentioned is right before the pouring out of the Bowl Judgments, God sends forth an angel who circumnavigates the globe and proclaims the Gospel to every person on planet Earth, so that man will have no excuse to say they’ve never heard the Gospel.
Tim Moore: The story of the Gospel Angel in Revelation 14 reveals that during the Tribulation there will be many who will accept Christ’s offer of salvation because they heard the Gospel message from that angel. These holdouts will have to come to the end of themselves and finally turn in faith to Jesus Christ, or reject Him for all of eternity by taking the Mark of the Beast.
In the fourth segment of answering questions about the Tribulation, the Christ in Prophecy team will explore who the 24 Elders and the 144,000 could be.
Thanks again guys on a great read. I like the fact that you guys keep it simple. Anyone can understand what you guys are saying.
I have a question on something concerning the rapture,I read a article that was written by one of your staff would children be raptured if the parents were not believers and the way i read it they wouldn’t.then I saw a video taped that showed that the children did go up in the rapture because of the stroller being empty and the swings empty so my question is.what was the differentce here.what did it mean when Jesus said in Matthew 24 wow to them that are with child and nursing in those days does this mean they are going to be in the tribulatiom.I also hear jack van impe state that a pregnant woman would be taken up and deliver the child and come back down if she was not a believer.I am confused here.blessings.

Can you please provide scriptural references for your predictions. Or are these based on your own visions and dreams?
Jac, we here at Lamb & Lion Ministries teach right from the Bible and do not base our teaching on any supposed visions and dreams. Peter in Acts 2:17 quotes the prophet Joel who said, “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” Pentecost showed that those early Christians experienced those phenomena and that in the last days people will so again, though particularly during the coming 7 year Tribulation. We, however, do not claim to have had any revelation or visions outside of what’s recorded in the Bible.
Believing in the rapture of all Believers before the Tribulation is something that seems to be controversial in the end times timeline… Could you please list the Scriptures that say all the Believers will be raptured before the Tribulation? Thank you.
