The Land of Israel: Imminent Scenario

PDF

What is likely to happen next in the land of Israel?

Here is the most likely scenario that I can foresee at the moment. Hamas, the fundamentalist Arab terrorist organization funded by Iran, will take complete control over the Palestinian autonomous areas. Hamas will then unleash a renewed reign of terror on Israel, continuing their lobbing of rockets from Gaza and Jericho to back up their demand for control of Jerusalem.

Abbas will orchestrate world pressure on Israel through the United Nations and the Vatican. In September of this year he will likely proclaim a Palestinian state and then demand that Jerusalem be “liberated” or internationalized.

Since even the most liberal Israelis take the position that Jerusalem is non-negotiable, the pressure will mount toward an inevitable conflict. If Hamas does not unleash the rockets first, then Abbas will ultimately return to the method he knows best — terror.

This will prompt an Israeli counter attack, which, in turn, will motivate the Arab states to come to the defense of the Palestinians. This could very well lead to Syria launching an all out missile attack on Tel Aviv in order to reclaim the Golan Heights and turn attention away from their civilian upheavals.

If that ominous event should occur, the Israelis will be forced to use their ultimate weapon to survive. They will strike Damascus with nuclear weapons. This will fulfill the prophecies that state that Damascus will cease to exist in the end times (Isaiah 17:1-3 and Jeremiah 49:23-27).

In panic, the Arab states will then turn to their natural ally for help — the Russians. And the likelihood is that the Russian government will be only too happy to send an army into the Middle East to destroy Israel (and grab the Arab oil fields in the process).

That is when the Lord will step in personally to destroy the Russian hordes on the mountains of Israel in a supernatural way so that even the Israelis will realize that their deliverance came from the Lord and not from their own military might (Ezekiel 38 and 39).

As the whole world panics on the brink of World War III, a dynamic, charismatic political leader from Europe will step into the vacuum and propose an ingenious solution that will result in peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors — a peace that will enable the Jews to rebuild their Temple.

We live in exciting times when we can watch prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes. The events are ominous and overwhelming, but we can stand firm with great hope because we know that God is on His throne and that He is in control.

The events we are currently witnessing point to the imminent return of Yeshua, and when He returns, the world will be flooded with peace and righteousness, and Israel will enjoy the blessings of territorial integrity and peace forevermore (Zechariah 8:1-8).

  • Hartdawg, that's true. Dr. Reagan admits that events could delay for a bit, though a declaration of Palestinian statehood would be hard to not ignite the region into war.

Actually, this is an article Dr. Reagan made in '98 and updated recently. What amazed me though was how much of the last 13 years he figured would occur and did, which we left out of this edition.

World politics are steadly rolling forward to their inevitable conclusion.

  • True….and i ain't disagreeing with him by no means. I'm just wondering if there is a huge gap between psalm 83 and ezekiel 38&39 also the war in 06 and 08 a lot of people thought would lead to psalm 83. Its a wait and see game

  • Hello Nathan

Have either you or Dr. Reagan read “The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire” by Edward Gibbon Published between 1776 and 1788?

It has been on my ‘to read’ list for many, many years, and yesterday I bought a reduced copy with my last fiver on an impulse. It is so big that I thought it would make a useful door stop, along with my ‘War and Peace’ if I didn’t get round to reading it! Here is a scrap I found interesting; what do you think?

    Chapter 15 Page 259

“It was universally believed that the end of the world and the kingdom of Heaven were at hand. The near approach of this wonderful event had been predicted by the Apostles; the tradition of it was preserved by their earliest disciples, and those who understood in their literal sense the discourses of Christ Himself were obliged to EXPECT the second and glorious coming of the Son of Man IN THE CLOUDS, before that generation was totally extinguished…”

The ancient and popular doctrine of the Millennium was intimately connected to the second coming of Christ. As the works of creation had been finished in six days, their present state, according to a tradition which was attributed to the prophet Elijah, was fixed to six thousand years. By the same analogy it was inferred that this long period of labour and contention, which was now almost elapsed, would be succeeded by a joyful Sabbath of a thousand years; and that CHRIST, WITH the TRIUMPHANT BAND OF THE SAINTS –-*AND*—the *ELECT* who had ESCAPED DEATH —*OR*—who had been MIRACULOUSLY REVIVED, would reign upon earth till the time of the appointed for the last and general resurrection….”

The assurance of such a millennium was carefully inculcated by a succession of fathers from Justin Martyr and Iranaeus who conversed with the immediate disciples of the Apostles…*But when the EDIFACE of the CHURCH WAS ALMOST COMPLETED, THE TEMPORARY SUPPORT WAS LAID ASIDE*… a MYSTERIOUS PROPHECY, (The Revelation) which still forms part of the sacred Canon, but was thought to favour the exploded sentiment, has very narrowly escaped the proscription of the Church. While the happiness and glory of a temporal reign were promised to the Disciples of Christ, the most dreadful calamities were denounced against an UNBELIEVING WORLD…” (earthdwellers)

*This seems to refer to 1Cor.13:10 when the Perfect is come meaning the completed Church at the Rapture and NOT the canon of Scripture as some suggest?

  • Fascinating read, Sue! I'll have to find a copy thats propping a door open and take a read. Right now I'm reading The Oregon Trail, a book published in 1849 with first-hand accounts of traveling across the Old West. When one reads history, who can say nothing changes?

  • I agree that the events as Dr. Reagan portrayed may very well be how this all comes down.

And this will be the Gog/Magog event – not the dubious Psalm 83 scenario as described in Israelistine.

  • Israelistine is all about the power and glory of Israel's military might.

Gog/Magog is all about the power and glory of God.

  • From an article linked today at raptureready.com:

"TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — The Iranian president said on Friday there will be no room for Israel in the region after the formation of a Palestinian state, and that once the state is established, the liberation of all Palestinian lands should follow.

The comments by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reflected his typical anti-Israeli rhetoric, which has drawn international condemnation since he first said in 2005 that Israel should be "wiped off the map."

Ahmadinejad spoke at a Tehran ceremony following nationwide pro-Palestinian rallies marking Quds Day. Quds is the Arabic word for Jerusalem. The annual demonstration is an occasion for Iranian officials to show off their support for Palestinians and condemn archenemy Israel.

The remarks come as the Palestinians are pushing this year to achieve recognition at the United Nations during the General Assembly meeting in September. The statehood bid comes amid stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations and although the U.N. vote in New York will be largely symbolic, the Palestinians believe it will send a powerful message to Israel.

"Do not assume you will be boosted with a (U.N.) recognition of a Palestinian state," Ahmadinejad said, addressing Israel. "There is no room for you in the region."

"Recognition of a Palestinian state is the first step in the liberation of the entire Palestine," he added."

  • How does Daniel 11 (clash between the King of the North and King of the South, with the conquering of Egypt, Libya and Put by the King of the North) fit into Dr. Reagan's scenario?

  • Anon, i used to wonder the same thing. its my understanding that Daniel 11:36 on (before vs 35 was fulfilled in history) describes the war starting in the middle of the tribulation and concludes at armeggedon and the 2nd coming. well after psalm 83 and Gog/Magog. i think Nathan and Reagan agrees but if not he'll correct me on Monday .

  • Billy,

Israel cannot allow Palestine to become a state. Currently, when Israel is attacked by Palestinian rockets the IDF goes into Israeli territory to flush out the Palestinian terrorists. If Palestine is a state, and terrorists fire rockets at Israel, and Israel sends IDF forces to take them out, then, Israel has now invaded a sovereign nation. What do you think will happen if either scenario arises?

Either way: Palestine receives statehood/ Israel blocks Palestinian statehood, Palestine and its neighbors will go to war with Israel. You can look at Egypt, with its newly radical leadership that is clamoring for a war with Israel. Give them the tiniest of excuses and they will take it.

  • Billy,

One more point: Iran's history involving Israel in the past decade has been to use its proxies: Syria, Hamas, Lebanon/Hezbollah to attack Israel. So, all that is missing from the Psalm 83 coalition is Egypt, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. You can believe Gog/Magog comes first all you want, but answer me this: What nation does Libya, Sudan, and possibly Tunisia have to go through to put troops in Israel? Why isn't this nation that would join this group in a heartbeat listed in Ezekiel 38 & 39?

  • Hello Nathan
I was wondering if you noticed that the book by Gibbon (PRE Darby) strongly suggests a Pre-trib Rapture?

    WITH…

the TRIUMPHANT BAND OF THE SAINTS (Pre-raptured Church)

    AND…

The elect – dead and alive (Tribulation saints all at 2nd Coming )

While the HAPPINESS AND GLORY (in heaven) of a temporal reign were promised to the Disciples of Christ…

the most dreadful calamities (The Trib)…

were denounced against an UNBELIEVING WORLD…” (earthdwellers)

It most certainly doesn’t suggest a Postie or a Praty position to me?

  • Billy and Gideon

I do have reservations over Isralestine but consider Psalm 83 is a prayer which involves the direct neighbours of Israel which is answered in Isaiah 17. This must surely will occur before Ezek Gog Magog or why aren't those nations included in the list considering they are such a threat.

Plus I think it most likely Gog Magog will occur before the 7 yr Trib because of the given conditions. imo 🙂

    Maranatha

  • I agree with this, the only area I seem to wonder is

Hamas is a Sunni group of Islam and Iran is strictly Shia

Two different groupsw hich fight amonst each other.

I think that it could be Hezobellah who icites Hamas to do such as Hezobellah is a shia group of islamic terrorist thugs

  • Typically Sunnis and Shias don't get along, but that is changing because they have a common enemy, Israel.

Something else about the Psalm 83 coalition. I view Psalm 83 as actual prophecy. The reason, it prophesied a coalition of Israel's enemies that came to fulfillment in 1945 with the forming of the Arab League. If you look at the founding members states of the Arab League, they line up with the people listed in Psalm 83. The Arab League formed at the same time thousands of European Jews began to make their way to the Holy Land. The Arab League's founding was to prevent a Jewish state and limit Western influence over the Middle East.

Take a look at the founding nations:

  • Much of Daniel 11 was already fulfilled in history. An excellent play-by-play commentary on this is John MacArthur's "The Future of Israel" sermon series.

Starting with Daniel 11:36 to the end of the chapter, we have the future account of the Antichrist's battle in the latter second half of the Tribulation against two of his ten kings. For more on this battle and it's timing in the Tribulation, check out Dr. Reagan's article The Wars of the End Times.

  • Thank you Dr. Reagan for your take on coming events in Israel and the world. May we all be ready to meet the Savior!

  • Only in our love for Christ, I wanted to make a brief comment. I came accross this article. The survey in the right top corner prompted me to respond.

I would like to suggest that the US is represented throughout the Bible.

The whole Bible centers around the two brothers Jacob(lost tribes of Israel) and Esau (Russia).

Please recall that Jacob was renamed by our Father. Jacob's new name became Israel.

The 12 lost tribes of Israel were not "lost". Our Father scattered the tribes. We (US) are part of the tribe of Israel. Not to be confused with the "land of Israel".

Our brother (the nation Israel) is the Tibe of Judah.

When God mentions the "land of Israel", he is speaking of the nation, Israel (Judah)
When he speaks about "the people or tribe of Israel", it is us.
We are not a gentile nation

The Tribe of Joseph was divided. Our Father split the stick into two sticks. The two sticks represent Ephraium (Great Britain)and Manasseh (US). Hence the 12 Tribes of Irael became 13.

The Tribes are all part of Israel. Please read the Abrahmic Covenant by E Raymond Capt. It can be purchased on amazon.

Once you realize what Tribes represents what nation, it brings a whole new light in understanding our Father's word.

    .

When the war, Magog comes, Most likely it will be Russia (Esau) attacking the US (Jacob)….most likely in the state of Alaska. We represent Jacob.

Why Alaska? When we are brought to our knees, Esau will sieze the opportunity. Could it be Alaska's
oil? Remember we bought Alaska from Russia. When the attack comes, God will step in to protect us. The hail stones will fall upon them.

I also want to mention, The war in the Middle East, King of the North vs King of the South will occur soon. You can see the nations being aligned. It all boils down to the North (supported by Russia vs South (supported by the US), again Jacob vs Esau. Look at today's news….what Middle East nations are supported by Russia vs the nations that we support.

Eventhough Ezekiel and Isaiah were fulfilled, it will be fulfilled once more. It will go down as it did before.

I would like to express my thoughts on the rapture, but that discussion could go on and on. Picking and choosing sriptures from the Bible to support the "rature" is in my opinion sad.
There will be a rapture, but it will be a post tribulation rapture.

When our Lord and Savior comes back, it will be the first day of the milinium. On that day, He will seperate the sheep from the goats. When reading the verses that support a pre or mid trib rapture, please look at the subject these verses are speaking to. Also, please use the Stongs Concordance along with the King James version of the Bible so that you understand on what is being said. Please read the Bible for what it says. Please seperate it from what man says.

Example…how many times have you read Genesis thinking that Adam was the first man? God created man (Gentile nations)on the 6th day. Ever wonder why Cain married his sister? He did not. He went out into the Gentile nations.

Whether you agree or disagree, please check it out.

One thing we can agree on is to support and pray for our brethern of Israel.

  • Dr Reagan: I don't believe that God would destroy the enemies of Israel, and then allow the antichrist to come forth. The Kingdom age comes after the gog magog war. Psalm 83 could be the next big thing.

  • Ed, Russia (Esau) attacking the US (Jacob)? This total spiritualization of the nations of the end times from the Bible is utter nonsense. Take the Bible for it's plain sense meaning.

  • Nathan,
I'm trying to get a better view of the path of Gog/Magog to cross the border into Israel.

All the stuff I've seen so far, including Google-Earth [won't let you zoom in below a certain height/angle to see how high the Mts are] seems to indicate that in coming from the Damascus area, they will have to cross over the Golan Heights to gain access to the open valley heartland.

Since you've been over there, what's your view of the access situation? Do you have any maps/pix that give a decent perspective of the valley in relation to the Mt range??

Is there a route that circumvents the GH approach?

  • Good question, DrNoFog! Sadly, one I don't have a specific answer from Ezek. 38-39 to work off of. Considering the massive size of the combined armies and the location of the attacking nations coming from both the North and South and possibly West by sea, it seems most likely there will be many entry points made into Israel. Since the text has the Lord destroying these armies on the mountains, it would seem they make some inroads deep into what is Israeli's current territory.
