1,000th Article Celebration!

1000th Article Celebration

The Christ in Prophecy Journal blog is just about to reach the 1,000 mark of posted articles! Yes, that’s right, one-thousand articles have been posted to this blog since its inception in 2008. Whew! That’s a lot of proclaiming the soon return of Jesus Christ and equipping the saints with an apologetics foundation.

As a great blessing to us, we here at Lamb & Lion Ministries are being given a short rest by a number of our fellow Bible prophecy teachers and friends. Starting on July 9th, you’ll be enjoying the wonderful writings of Terry James, Eric Barger, Caryl Matrisciana, Don Koenig, Jan Markell, Bill Salus, Mike Gendron, Jim Tetlow and other teachers who are celebrating with us by submitting some of their best articles to this forum. They’ll also tell you what Lamb & Lion Ministries means to them.

As a blessing to you, Lamb & Lion Resources will be offering a giveaway. The first person (can’t be an “Anonymous”) who posts a comment to the one-thousandth article will receive the pick of any two resources from our online resource center. We’ll even have it signed by Dr. David Reagan. We won’t be saying which article is the thousandth, so keep an eye out!

We here at the ministry just want to thank you for all the years you’ve been following along in our study of God’s prophetic Word. Our hope is that you’ve grown stronger in your knowledge and relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ, looking with anticipation for His soon return.

Get started with the first guest article in the series.

Thank you and God bless!

  • Congratulations!
Out of idle curiosity is that 1000unique articles, or does it include repeated articles that add up to 1000 postings all told?
    🙂

  • Congratulations on your milestone. Obviously I must love this site since I have never been able to stay away from it.

Very much looking forward to the change of pace with some fresh perspectives from people that I may not have read before. (That's not a "dig" by the way).

Will we be able to post comments on those articles?

(Nathan, I hope to be posting regularly again soon. The passing of time and my refraining from posting is helping me get to my right frame of mind. That is, don't get emotionally invested in the comments section, just keep it converstaional).

    Dr. NoFog,

If you read this…I apologize for all comments I may have directed towards you that were negative and uncalled for and hope you can forgive me. Thanks.

  • Hey Billy,
Great to have you back again!
We missed you and have been praying for you and fam.

The way things are heating up in the ME we might get to meet real soon rather than later.
    God bless you.

  • You entire site keeps in informed about what's happening in our world and the things that concern, or should concern Bible reading Christians. I LOVE THIS SITE! I also print your articles and re-read them. My husband talk about what we learn so much. We do believe that the coming of the Lord is very soon and are praying for those in our families. Thank you for your wonderful commitment to be 'watchmen' on the wall!
    God bless,
    Louise

  • Doug
Your consitant presentation of rightly diving the Word has been helpful and comforting in our ever changing world. Keep up the great work!

  • Hi-

You have a wonderful ministry, but I'm wondering about a comment Dr. Reagans made in the Lamplighter magazine (which I just received and, as usual, read cover-to-cover). He castigates anniliation, but (1) the OT talks reapeatedly about going to one's destruction (I know you are going to say that not what it really means, that what many liberals say). (2) I know of no comments even in the NT that specifically exclude annilation, and (3) as a practical matter, what do you do about the millions of babies aborted in the world each year. If those babies are in heaven then abortionist do a greater good then Billy Graham, on the other hand I don't believe, myself, God would automatically send them to Hell. Ergo, is anniliation possible???

"…the 2nd death is a state of existing, eternally separated from the Living God…"

"…the word 'destruction' and 'destroy', it is never used with the connotation of "ceasing to exist"…"

    Hope this helps.

  • I am new to the comments but I have
been cherishing Dr. Reagan's publications for quite a few years. I also cherish how he responds to people, whether they agree or not with his interpretation of scripture. That is something to cherish greatly.

  • Hi GG5 and welcome!
We all have great admiration for Dr.Reagan, Nathan, and their ministry here. The articles, guests, and even the comments all work together to sharpen our understanding of the Scriptures and our Savior, – …something about "iron sharpens iron", etc., unless someone was taking that out of context…
    😉

On the duration of hell, and especially in dealing with cults, I have pondered this also from time to time, even before I found this site and this is where I feel that the good Dr. is taking the proverbial "left turn in Albuquerque"…

    Dr.Reagan says:

"…My first difficulty with the traditional view is that it **seems** to impugn the character of God.. ..The concept of eternal torment seems to convert the true God of justice into a cosmic sadist…" [emphasis mine, – 'seems' is the correct choice of words here.]

Once you make this assumption as your premise, other things have to be "adjusted" to make it all fit together.

    In Jeremiah 17:9 God says:
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

This is the general condition of mankind whether we are saved or not. We cannot begin to fathom our own hearts. It is only when we get to Heaven and have the "mind of Christ" and the Holiness of God fully revealed to us will begin to comprehend the depths of depravity that God had to reach down to, to save us.

If we cannot begin to fathom the depths of our own hearts, how can we, even as Christians, possibly make any assumptions about the character of God, except in a general sense and only according to what is actually given in the Scriptures??

    Isaiah 55:8-9
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

As far as "Eternity" goes, I've noticed more scholars suggesting that Heaven is like a never-ending day, that we're not stuck in amber like a fossil with no passage of "time". It'll be just like when we are have a good day here really enjoying doing something creative and we don't notice the passage of "time" unless something calls our attention to it. We'll have plenty of good stuff to occupy our "time" and we won't notice the passage of "time" ever again.

Same with the lost. None of them will be thinking "Wow, I've been here for 25 million yrs, when is this gonna end?!? It'll just be a continual "day" wherein they seethe in their hatred of God and are tormented for it.

Hope this helps and again, welcome.
