Have you heard the amazing story about the world renowned rabbi who left a sealed message to be opened a year after his death? He said the Messiah had appeared to him and that the message would contain the Messiah’s identity. And when the message was opened, it shocked the Orthodox Jewish world, so much so in fact, that they have tried to keep it quiet ever since.

Pastor Carl Gallups reveals what the rabbi’s message said and how it has shocked the Orthodox Jewish world in his latest book The Rabbi who Found Messiah. He’s also written one of the best apologetics book called The Magic Man in the Sky. Here now is our Christ in Prophecy interview of Pastor Gallups on this fascinating topic.

A Companion Film

Dr. Reagan: Carl, you wrote the book on Kaduri’s profession, but tell us about the movie version of it.

Carl Gallups: Yes, the book was made into a documentary movie by award-winning film producer George Escobar. I thought he did an amazing job. He made me look really good.

Dr. Reagan: One of the things that I love in the movie is where they show Kaduri’s son denying all of what his father said. Then you cut to these students who sat under him saying, “Oh, no, he taught this.”

Carl Gallups: The video has got Kaduri’s son saying to the effect, “My father never even spoke about the Messiah.” The film shows the Israeli newspapers had been running articles about what his father said, and then they’ve got students from his own Yeshiva saying he talked about the Messiah all the time and said his name was Yehoshua.

Dr. Reagan: How long does the film run?

Carl Gallups: It’s an hour, exactly 55 minutes I think.

It’s an amazing film, but not because of me. The movie is amazing. My jaw was on the ground when I watched it.

Dr. Reagan: I first read the book, and then I saw the film and was just blown away by the film.

Carl Gallups: Well, I wrote the book and then I saw the film, and I was amazed as well. They did an amazing job. You know George Escobar and WND Films produced the number one faith movie in America right now. They are an amazing team and did a wonderful job. So, I tell people read the book which is really good with lots of information in it, but you’ve got to go and see the movie as well.

Final Verdict

Dr. Reagan: Carl, what’s your personal conclusion about Kaduri? Was his message a forgery? Dementia? Valid vision? What?

Carl Gallups: Of course, I have no idea of knowing with 100% accuracy, but based upon all the investigation I did as I wrote the book and am in the movie, my best guess with the evidence I have before me now if I was a cop going to take a case to court, my best guess at this point would be that the note was for real. It was an original. It was posted on Kaduri’s website before his followers really understood how to decrypt it. Once it was decrypted and Yehoshua was the named the Messiah, and they had to have known that he taught this in his seminary, but I think they were just terrified by the international implications of Kaduri’s claim. I think they pulled the note down as quickly as possible of his website and started to deny it was ever there and wanted to cover it up. So, yes, I think the note was real.

Dr. Reagan: Are the Orthodox and Kabbalists going to be very happy with you?

Carl Gallups: They are not very happy with me now. The sad part of that is, I’m such a supporter of Israel and such a supporter of the Jewish people. We’ve done no harm to Rabbi Kaduri’s legacy. I treat the family and Rabbi Kaduri with the utmost of respect and integrity.

The Message of the Messiah

Dr. Reagan: Carl, for someone who doesn’t know Jesus of Nazareth, should they sit back and wait for a vision of God to tell them about Jesus?

Carl Gallups: Having a vision from God is an amazing and wonderful thing, but no, there is no need to wait for that because God has revealed Himself perfectly in the person of His Son Jesus Christ. In God’s Word the Bible we have that vision that is given to us, and let me just say Romans 10:9 I think says that message succinctly and perfectly. “If you would confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, then you shall be saved.” And you break that down, confessing with your mouth He is Lord —Jesus is Lord — not you, not the world, not something you’ve earned, but Jesus. Jesus is Lord.

Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Why? Because then you know Jesus is the Lord of life. Through Jesus Christ you shall have eternal life.

  • If the note left by Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri was real, and there's no evidence to suggest it was not real, then there are many thousands of observant Jews today who are exposed to accepting any Jewish guy by the common Jewish name of Yehoshua who happens to come along and lay claim that he is the awaited anointed one, now that Ariel Sharon has passed away.

This would fulfill Jesus' prophecy given at the opening of His Olivet Discourse, Matthew 24:4-5

" And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many."

I can't see how any of this is beneficial to Jews around the world or that it is something truly of God.

If I am wrong in this preliminary conclusion, then I need someone to explain how in detail.

  • I read somewhere (a couple of places if I remember correctly) that in the vision, "Jesus" told him what was going to happen when he returns; such as indwelling a Jewish man who is now already alive and well and that he will not know himself who he is at first. Point is, if this is true and Kaduri was told this in the vision then it was obviously not Jesus Christ who visited him, but an imposter. What say you?

  • I find myself contrasting Orthodox Jewish Rabbi and Kabbalist extraordinaire Yitzhak Kaduri's vision experience with that of Saul on the Road to Damascus in Acts 9.

As we all know, Jehoshua appeared to Saul of tarsus and basically conducted His version of extraordinary rendition; sending Saul on his way to Damascus completely blind but yet delivering him directly into the hands of His disciple Ananias to lay hands upon him to both restore his sight and baptize him in the Holy Spirit. Saul immediately thereafter went into Damascus synagogues preaching to the Jews there and proving to them that Jehoshua was HaMashiach.

Understanding the the Lord is sovereign in His ways, and taking this to Him in prayer, I am still having a pretty difficult time accepting the Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri story as a genuine conversion to Jehoshua HaHashiach.

The actions of Orthodox Jews (prior to the Lord's soon pouring out of His Spirit upon them) is as expected and as it has been (for the most part) for nearly 2,000 years; however Kaduri's actions after his own personal experience is decidedly unlike anything one might expect of a true conversion of a Jew to one of Jehoshua's saints. That's where I am with this at the moment.

  • I just finished reading the entire series, and I am exceedingly disappointed in the position taken by David Reagan, Nathan Jones and Carl Gallup's. Rabbi Kaduri may have given the correct Name; but this name has often been claimed by false messiahs, this is prophesied in the Word and is nothing new. Many have posted further content of the letter, which describes some characteristics about this so called messiah, and which prove beyond a doubt that it is NOT the true Lord. Yet, not a single word is mentioned about this? Not a single statement refuting the vision? Where is the testing of the spirits Scripture commands?

Here are quotes from an article at Rapture Ready written by Cynthia Nuara, link at the end

Here is Kaduri’s reported portrayal of the Messiah:

"It is hard for many good people in the society to understand the person of the Messiah. The leadership and order of a Messiah of flesh and blood is hard to accept for many in the nation. As leader, the Messiah will not hold any office, but will be among the people and use the media to communicate. His reign will be pure and without personal or political desire. During his dominion, only righteousness and truth will reign. Will all believe in the Messiah right away? No, in the beginning some of us will believe in him and some not. It will be easier for non-religious people to follow the Messiah than for Orthodox people. The revelation of the Messiah will be fulfilled in two stages:

First, he will actively confirm his position as Messiah WITHOUT KNOWING HIMSELF THAT HE IS THE MESSIAH. Then he will reveal himself to some Jews, not necessarily to wise Torah scholars. It can be even simple people. Only then he will reveal himself to the whole nation. The people will wonder and say: ‘What, that’s the Messiah?’

Many have known his name but have not believed that he is the Messiah."

Kaduri supposedly also said, “When he comes, the Messiah will rescue Jerusalem from foreign religions that want to rule the city. They will not succeed for they will fight against one another."

I’m confused by the rabbi’s statement. Jesus isn’t making His first appearance here, and He knows exactly who He is. The documentary confirmed something else that REALLY bothers me which Kaduri said. “Hit'abra bezrat hashem nishmat mashiach b'adam m'yisrael” – translation: “WITH THE HELP OF GOD, THE SOUL OF THE MESSIAH HAS ATTACHED ITSELF TO A PERSON IN ISRAEL." Kaduri is claiming the Messiah is here now and has attached His soul to someone else! The Bible says no such thing about Jesus. However, it does tell us that the Antichrist will be empowered by Satan.

Now, MANY members of the Christ in Prophecy Facebook group have also shared this information and expressed our concerns there. Promoting a vision which clearly describes a FALSE Messiah, is no small thing, and it CANNOT be overlooked, swept under the rug, or called "non essential" to the Faith once for all delivered to the saints.

Any soul who so professes such a love for Israel, and even more, for the Lord Jesus; ought to know that by far the most loving thing a believer can bless Israel with, is revelation of the TRUE Gospel and True Lord Jesus, NOT a false messiah.

The wide influence wielded by Kaduri in Israel, as noted by 300,000 attending his funeral, is no small thing. The NAME he gives may be the right name, but the description he gives, clearly describes a different and thus false Jesus. Quite a nice set-up for them to embrace the coming Anti-Christ. Truly, do you think the AC will tell everyone he is the devil?

You REALLY need to address this, and I very much hope and pray the response will be repentance and a retraction.

  • I thought to pass on by this misguided offering, but I am so relieved to see this post of deep concern by Gail Grace and feel the need to add my own amen to all her remarks and the final “You REALLY need to address this, and I very much hope and pray the response will be repentance and a retraction.”
    Amen to this.

  • To the angry pitch-fork wielding mobs who have overrun the facebook group and are now on this site. I read all this and nowhere does Gallups claim the rabbi accepted Jesus. He just wrote a name on paper. That's all they said. It's just a report, people!!! Nobodys claiming anything but what the guy wrote on a piece of paper. Sheesh!

  • Sal,

The has been an strong attempt the legitimize the vision or appearance of this "Yehoshua" according to Rabbi Kaduri by comparing his claimed experience to that of the Apostle Paul (when he was Saul of Tarsus).

We are also told that Rabbi Kaduri taught his yeshiva students that the "Yehoshua" he met was the awaited HaMashiach.

Moreover, is the title of the book "THE RABBI WHO FOUND MESSIAH" not declarative as if Rabbi Kaduri's experience constituted a fact?

Far from being "angry pitch-fork wielding mobs," we are addressing this subject with as much dignity, respect and Christian love here as Carl Gallups exhibited to the Rabbi's family and followers. As members of the bride of Christ we are questioning Rabbi kaduri's account with what we know from the Word of God. We are being Bereans with respect to this issue which is a far cry from how you have publicly categorized us.

  • Perhaps The Holy Spirit had revealed to the late Rabbi what the Rabbi wrote on the paper to cause such a stir that the people of Israel would look again at Yeshua. I would say that has been accomplished.

  • Sal wrote "To the angry pitch-fork wielding mobs who have overrun the facebook group and are now on this site. I read all this and nowhere does Gallups claim the rabbi accepted Jesus. He just wrote a name on paper. That's all they said. It's just a report, people!!! Nobodys claiming anything but what the guy wrote on a piece of paper. Sheesh!"

I won't even bother to address the angry pitchfork wielding spirit of Sal's comment. I will only point out an important fact.

I listened to Dr Reagan on a Saturday Blogradio broadcast, where he called in to August Rosado, and the topic of rabbi Kadur and his letter came up.

Dr Reagan clearly stated that he [Reagan] was convinced that this vision came from God.

This is extremely disturbing both to me and to the vast majority of us in the CIP Facebook group, and as I read, as well to commenters here.

Yes,. we have been Bereans, and held fast to what the Word of Gpd declares about the next coming of the Messiah, and Kaduri's vision describes something far different. The excuse about what Kaduri and Orthodox Jews believe, in that they still await the first coming, would certainly explain Kaduri's confusion, but the true Lord would not at all share this confusion, and reinforce the false belief.

I am still hoping and praying for repentance and a retraction by Lamb and Lion, and will not accept less than this, nor should any other true saint of God.

  • A previous post about concerns I had got this reply from Nathan:

"Billy, that's what Kaduri claimed. We're only REPORTING on what he said, NOT ENDORSING it." (my emphasis added)

So note, L&L is NOT endorsing this according to Nathan.

Sal's "angry pitch-fork wielding mobs" should be toned down. This is a discussion area (as in sharing of multiple viewpoints), not a mob. Chill out. (I've given myself that advice Sal so don't be mad at me)

I think the main question people have is the Rabbi named the Messiah according to the article but we just are confused when you bring in the other quotes attributed to him. We aren't attacking or blasphemizing, we (or I) are wondering why the Rabbi doesn't come across more like Zola Levitt then?

  • Just out of curiousity, I wonder if another different Rabbi than in this article had named the Messiah in a note and it was not Jesus and made the same remarks (such as the Messiah will not know he is the Messiah, etc.), would L&L use said remarks as a way of discrediting someone who misnamed the Messiah?

Just a question as I think this issue through. Not drawing conclusions.

  • One further comment on the "angry pitch-fork wielding mobs"…

…I am a Prophecy Parnter of Lamb & Lion Ministries and support L&L, Dr. Reagan and Nathan.

Any comments or discussions which may sound like there could be concerns or differences are not a sign of dissent or division.

I continue to support this ministry. You can disagree with them if you wish. But nothing, so far, that I have read or heard would warrant any attacks on this ministry nor do I feel do they need to retract anything.

We must not become a house divided which cannot stand. We are still united in Christ and the purpose of this ministry is still and continues to be the proclaiming the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Nothing has changed nor damaged that purpose. In that spirit people should be careful not to overreact in any differences they may have with L&L.

  • As some are prone to say in parts of New Jersey north of where I live… when I comes to me previous comments and statements here on this subject

    fugeddaboudit.

The bottom line is all of this can be found by locating Zev Porat, an Israeli born into a rabbinical Orthodox family who came to faith in Jesus Christ.

Find Zev and you will find his Messiah of Israel website and several videos of his interviews with Rabbi Kaduri's yeshiva students professing Jesus as Messiah.

    Praise God!

  • And thank you, Sean, for putting us onto Zev Porat's website! For those who are wondering what Jesus Kaduri's students accepted as Savior, Zev demonstrates in those excellent interviews and by his own testimony as the one who helped lead them to Christ's salvation.

  • Nathan's quote "…For those who are wondering…" explains, as least for me, what was being expressed.

The desire for more information before coming to conclusions (I haven't drawn conclusions but this helps with the big picture).

    Thanks.

(Nathan, can anything be done about the word verifications…I have to try 10 times or more to post…they are very difficult to read)
