The Mighty Angels of Daniel 11: Bad Moon Rising

MP3: The Mighty Angels of Daniel 11 Forebode
Hosts: Nathan Jones & Vic Batista

One Meaty Chapter

Vic Batista: We are finishing up Daniel 11 in our study of God’s mighty angels as portrayed in the book of Daniel. We are about to learn of the events of the Antichrist’s demise. We have spent no small amount of time in chapter 11 because of the great multitude of prophecies this amazing chapter contains.

Nathan Jones: We really have. Daniel 11 is one of the meatiest prophetic chapters in all of the Bible.

Vic Batista: So far we’ve been looking at the characteristics of the prophesied world leader who will rise up in the last days to conquer the earth.

Nathan Jones: Daniel 11:29 and into Daniel 12 prophesies about the future of Israel, beyond even our own time period. The old prophet is being given by the messenger angel that God sent to him a description of a future one-world leader who will rise to oppress Israel and conquer the world. Other passages in the New Testament call this man of lawlessness the Antichrist. Not only is this satanically powered individual going to conquer the world, but he exists to stand against everything that pertains to Jesus Christ. That’s why he is called the Antichrist.

Vic Batista: And so, grab your Bible and follow along with us in Daniel 11 as we continue looking at this very powerful portion in Scripture!

Bad Moon Rising

Vic Batista: Let’s briefly recap Daniel 11:36-39.

Nathan Jones: This passage explains the personality of the one-world ruler who will rise to power in the end times.

“Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, he shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and he shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. And he shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.”

This passage tells us that the Antichrist will be a man who in essence worships himself. He doesn’t worship God. He doesn’t worship any other religion known to exist. Rather, he worships himself. But, the Bible reveals in other passages that the Antichrist is in truth possessed by Satan, so what this self-worship really means is that Satan desires for the world to worship only him and him alone.

Satan through the Antichrist sets up a “god of fortresses,” which the term may mean some sort of god of war. Revelation 13 describes a “living image” forged in the likeness of the Antichrist by the False Prophet. He will command all people, great and small, to worship this god-image of the Antichrist. This scene reads similarly to Daniel 3 when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were ordered to worship a great golden statue of Nebuchadnezzar. Likewise, in the future, Satan through the Antichrist will also set up a magnificent statue of himself and demand he be worshiped. Clearly Satan and the Antichrist are the ultimate egotists!

The angel reveals to Daniel that the Antichrist possesses no desire for women. It’s debatable whether he is a homosexual or not, but likely he will be as he stands against the natural order of God’s creation.

The Antichrist advances all that he accomplishes for his own glory. He will rule over the world, and he will divide the land for his own personal gain.

Just think about the retrograde way the world is spinning today. The push for a one-world government and a one-world president sounds utopian, but will become in truth a globalist nightmare. A global government may sound all utopian and Star Trek. After all, the world ruler will finally get things done where democracies have failed in their bureaucratic entanglements.

The president of the world will achieve a long sought after peace. We read in Revelation 6 that the Antichrist will come in peace. He will bring hope to the world and the promise to fix all of society’s woes. But, in truth, this man of lawlessness is the ultimate egotist. Everything he does is for his own self-glorification. He will turn what people were hoping would be good into the terrible enslavement of the entire planet’s population. Rather a frightening future when you think about it!

Vic Batista: Here in America, with every new presidential election, people desire someone special who once elected will fix all of our society’s problems. Likewise, the stage is being set globally.

Nathan Jones: How funny that the United Nations hopes it can bring all the countries of the world together. They will all sit down and make just the right decisions that will bring about peace. More and more people look to a global government for the answers, instead of Jesus Christ.

Global governance is just the thin veneer that disguises Satanism. Satan has long lusted for global dominion. Satan worked tirelessly for millennia towards a global government with him as the sole head.

Throughout the Bible, it tells us many times, and not just in Daniel 11, that at some point the humanistic world will finally get what they’ve so long demanded. They will set up a president of the world position. This person will command more power than the President of the United States and the President of Russia combined. All the nations will be subjected to this global despot.

At the beginning of his reign, life will be pretty good because the Antichrist will actually forge a temporary peace. He makes some progress fixing the world’s problems, such as a global economic collapse, famines and wars. He succeeds in stopping all of those problems for a brief time, but in doing so, his price for achieving such lofty goals will be the conquering of the world. And, once he’s achieved global dominance, then it truly will be all about him.

The first segment of this series on the mighty angels of Daniel began with a tragic back story. In the seventy-first segment, we’ll witness the crumbling of the Antichrist’s empire due to open rebellions.

  • Right — people are serving ideologues that have done an excellent job of manifesting within hearts (closed to God) a false hope.
Of course, that is to be expected — we have been warned multiple time
of the aggressiveness of evil, which walks about like a ravenous wild animal.

So, when we bring the Gospel to the world we are talking to many spiritually deaf ears.
Fortunately, God knows who will be inclined to His word — He’s doing the calling and the choosing.
