Billy Crone on the Number One Spiritual Lie

Billy Crone on the Signs of the Times

What is the number one spiritual lie?

To answer this and many other questions concerning Bible prophecy, Dr. David Reagan and I invited as a special guest on our television program Christ in Prophecy Billy Crone, pastor of a Las Vegas, Nevada church and founder of Get A Life Ministries. Pastor Crone is a very knowledgeable, articulate, and passionate proclaimer of God’s Prophetic Word. He answered our questions based on his latest book The Final Countdown. This book presents a survey of the signs of the times that point to the fact that we are living in the season of the Lord’s soon return.

Number One Spiritual Lie

Dr. Reagan: The number one spiritual lie right now that you see everywhere is there are many roads to God. So, if you are a Jew, you’ve got your road. If you’re a Buddhist, you’ve got your road. If you’re a Muslim, you’ve got your road. If you’re a Humanist philosopher, you’ve got your road.

Nathan Jones: Even the Pope, of all people, has been teaching that all roads lead to God. Billy, how do you response to that heretical claim?

Billy Crone: The response is: “You just called God a liar!”

Nathan Jones: Jesus told us point blank in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” That statement stands totally apart from Universalism.

Billy Crone: And that’s just it. In John 14:6, Jesus did indeed claim, “I am the way, the truth, the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus said that, I didn’t. He didn’t say, “…a way, a truth, a life.” No, the article reads “the, the, the.” Jesus alone is the only way to the Father.

How tragic when people counter, “Well, that’s just your interpretation of the Bible.” No, no! I didn’t say that. I’m just the newspaper boy. I’m declaring the Good News straight from Jesus’ lips. Don’t kill the messenger. Jesus said He was the only way to Heaven.

In truth, they’re really hypocrites. They’ll speedily say, “I like Jesus with the Golden Rule: Do unto others.” Well, yes, He also said that. But, you can’t claim that Jesus was a great guy who taught the Golden Rule, but then deny that He ever claimed to be the sole way to God. You just can’t have your cake and eat it, too. Either Jesus is true, and He is, or He’s not. You can’t accept some of what He taught and reject the other things that inconvenience you. That’s being a hypocrite.

Nathan Jones: In truth, these hypocrites are practicing idolatry. They’re really saying they have their own Jesus that they formed in their own fashion and whom they want to worship, not the Jesus of the Bible, but the Jesus they formed in their own image.

Dr. Reagan: That’s the fashion today, even in many churches. The error occurred when people began drifting away from the Bible. I believe that’s part of the reason for this embrace of Universalism. People, even churches, are getting away from the Bible, because not all of the Bible is being taught. When you teach Bible prophecy, what does it drill into your head? All of the Bible came from God.

Dealing With Chaos

Dr. Reagan: Billy, what encouragement can you give to those people who are becoming alarmed about all the troubling signs of the soon return of Jesus? They’re scared the planet is becoming engulfed in total chaos. Or, they don’t have any spiritual relationship with God. What would you say to them?

Billy Crone: Well, I’d say this: Quite frankly, you need to be alarmed, because what we are headed for Jesus said will become the worst time in all the history of mankind. This time will be so horrible that unless God shortened the time-frame, keeping it to seven years, the entire human race would be destroyed.

That’s why God is telling you right now in advance what is coming, because He loves you. The good news is if you would ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the grave, the Bible says that God will save you. He will rescue you from entering the Tribulation and eventually being sentenced to Hell. You won’t have to endure the horrors of the seven-year Tribulation and the fires of eternal judgment. You can be rescued from that right now through Jesus Christ. That’s what God is telling you, and it is a message of love.

When teaching people Bible prophecy, they often accuse, “You’re trying to scare me.” Well, not all fear is bad. If my son is out in the street and I see a truck coming, am I a bad parent when I yell for him to get out of the road? No! You’d expect that. So, God is basically say, “My wrath is coming to this planet. Get saved now!”

God made a way out for sinners, at the expense of His own Son’s life. What Jesus offers you is a free gift, but you have to actually receive it. You have to ask Jesus in repentance for His salvation.

God has been telling us He exists in the Bible and through all these signs that the Bible prophesied would come to pass. God has warned us in advance that judgment is coming to the inhabitants of the planet. He gave us a 2,000 year heads up. Therefore, please, don’t be stubborn. God doesn’t take pleasure in the death of the wicked. He is not willing that any should perish. He wants people to be saved. That’s why He lets us know beforehand what is coming to the world.

  • In Billy Crones comments he stated that the unrepentant will suffer fiery judgement during the tribulation…I suggest there is no fiery anything.
To be apart from GOD in the afterlife is to be distanced from his love which some consider to be the warmth of his presence..not too fiery but eternally distressing none the less.
GOD like any good father will put you in a corner if you transgress but the love is there and hopefully we get a chance to reconcile with him even at that stage.
    Blessings…Geoff

  • goeff, read it again, there are two separate events. 1. horrors of the tribulation. 2. then, the eternal fires of hell after the white throne judgement

  • The Bible has many passages regarding the nature of hell. It is real and described as fiery indeed.
    Great post by Billy Crone.
