The Palestinian Condition

Palestinian Crowd

A good friend of mine who is a missionary wrote to me to express his concern over my strong support of Israel in its struggle with the Arabs. He expressed compassion for the Palestinians, and stated that he felt like I was being unfair toward them.

I responded as follows:

In your letter you stated that you were afraid I had developed a “spiritual blind spot” regarding Israel and the Palestinians. You based that conclusion on cartoons I have run in the Lamplighter and on articles I have written about the Middle East.

I can certainly understand your feeling, and I respect it, but I strongly differ with it. I feel the ‘blind spot’ rests with the Church and the World. Both have hated the Jewish people and have done everything possible to persecute them for the past 2,000 years. Now that God has sovereignly regathered the Jewish people from the four corners of the earth and has re-established them as a nation, both the Church and the World are enraged and are determined to aid and abet the enemies of Israel in any way possible.

The Plight of the Palestinians

The Palestinian leadership is made up entirely of low-life, god-hating, murderous thugs, and I intend to make that clear to my audience in no uncertain terms, using both words and cartoons. I make no apology for it. I pray daily for God to pour out His wrath upon them.

As for the Palestinian people, I have nothing but compassion for them over the terrible, inhumane way that they have been treated by the Arab nations ever since 1948. The war that year produced hundreds of thousands of refugees. One million Jews were forcibly evicted from Arab countries overnight, and tiny Israel had to absorb them.

In contrast, The 500,000 Palestinian refugees were denied any place to go. The Arab states refused to absorb them because they wanted to use them as a pawn to orchestrate world public opinion against Israel. So, Jordan, the nation that controlled the West Bank from 1948 to 1967, herded them into horrible refugee camps and let them live like rats.

When Israel won the West Bank in the Six Day War in 1967, one of the first things they did was to move the refugees out of the camps and into towns where they were given decent jobs and social care. The refugee camps were bulldozed by the Israelis. The Palestinians were provided new hospitals and new schools, and they ended up with a standard of living that was three to four times higher than any of their Arab neighbors. But their lives were made miserable by PLO thugs who operated like the Mafia, extorting money on the threat of death.

The Issue of a Palentinian State

The call for a Palestinian state is nonsense. Israel is one of the smallest nations in the world, smaller than Kuwait (about the size of New Jersey). It has no land to give away. If the West Bank were to be given to the Palestinians, Israel would be only 9 miles wide at a spot directly above Tel Aviv. No nation in the world would give such land to its sworn enemy. And for the nations of the world to demand that Israel do so is pure hypocrisy of the first order.

Israeli Population Center Distances

A Palestinian state already exists. It is called Jordan. It constitutes two-thirds of the land that has been historically referred to as Palestine. There is no need for another Palestinian state. There are 22 Arab states and only one tiny Jewish state. Why must another Arab state be carved out of the heart of Israel? Only because the World hates the Jews.

West Bank

Another point to keep in mind is that there has never been a Palestinian state in all of history. From the fall of Israel in 70 AD to the present, the area dubbed “Palestine” by the Romans (to insult the Jews, since Palestine in Latin means Philistine) has been a part of greater Syria, and all the Arabs who lived there looked upon themselves as Syrians. There was never a Palestinian state, nor was Jerusalem ever the capital city of any Arab entity. The land and the city are Jewish.

The Root of the Problem

Satan hates the Jews with a passion because they gave the world both the Bible and the Messiah. He also hates the promises that God has made to save a great remnant of the Jews in the end times.

Satan is determined to kill every Jew on planet earth so that God cannot fulfill His promises. I will stand with God’s Chosen People, and in the process, I will denounce their enemies, both at home and abroad.

  • Amen, Dr. Reagan.

My Bible states that Eretz Yisra'el was given to Jacob by Adonai. It wasn't given to the sons of Esau or Ishamel. It wasn't given to Christians because the Jews rejected their Messiah.

It is the Jewish Homeland because GOD SAID SO! No other reason matters.

And, even though I've never been there, I love Israel. I love her people. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem: the day Yeshua destroys Israel's enemies and places His throne in the Temple.

  • Also, I believe the promise still stands that God will bless the people who bless Israel and will curse the people who curse.

I think that the current problems in this country are a direct result of our turning our backs on God and His ways and His chosen people Israel.

  • I'm re-posting a deleted comment (why I can't even guess).

    B. Hussein Obama is continuing in the footsteps of G.W. against Israel.

    B. Hussein told his Muslim brothers at the U.N. that the U.S. does not recognize Israel's right to build settlements in the West Bank. (The land GOD gave them to settle in!)

He also said peace talks must re-start with NO pre-conditions. That means not even the PLO recognizing Israel's right to exist.

Our continuing antagonism towards Israel will seal our doom!

(Dr. Reagan himself has said as much in many of his writings so I won't understand if this gets deleted.)

  • Well said Dr. Reagan. I also stand with Israel and God's chosen people (the Jews). May God bless Israel and protect her.

  • I stand with Israel, too, but I don't wish the wrath of God on the Palestinians. Instead, I hope and pray that they will turn to Jesus for salvation, as so many Muslims are doing these days.

I praise God for how He works, even in the midst of Israel's enemies!

  • there are some who say the word "seed" means Jesus, therefore when God told Abram "to your seed (singular, jesus) i will give this land which is a millineal promise. not replacement theology. it ALWAYS meant the land belonged to jesus and his people

  • Just to clarify, Laura, Dr. Reagan said he prays for God's wrath upon the Palestinian LEADERSHIP (the low-life, God-hating, murderous thugs). Also note he prays for GOD's wrath, not his own. God is not only loving, He is just. He WILL pour out His wrath on evil.

Dr. Reagan said he only has compassion for the Palestinian PEOPLE.

It sounds to me like Dr. Reagan is following what it says in Romans 12:19…

"Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"says the Lord."

And if you choose to pray for the evil Palestinian leadership, Laura, I say okay but know what you will be doing…

    Romans 12:20-21

"…If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."

So, Laura, I will join you in praying for the Palestinian leadership to come to know Jesus and repent. And those prayers I will sincerely want to come true for God wants NO ONE to have to go to hell. But if they reject Jesus and remain evil, those prayers will turn to burning coals on their heads.

That's how I read it anyway. Anyone differ? If I'm wrong please tell me.

  • It seems, that right after the president threw Israel under the bus, then having a Muslimn "day of prayer" in Washington–that things are really speeding the End times right on. I pray that God will have mercy on this antion, or at least those of usd who support Israel, the apple of His eye. Although they did not welcome Jesus at His first coming as a baby, I know that God loves them and Christ will return there one day soon!

  • Billy,

Just to clarify my comments, I don't see a need for a distinction between the Palestinian leaders and the Palestinian people–one and all, they need Jesus.

By the way, I pray the same prayer for the enemies of America (terrorists) because Jesus is the ONLY solution to the problem.

Also, I don't see a need to pray for God's wrath on anyone–that wrath is guaranteed if he or she isn't born again. So, instead, I pray for their salvation!

  • Well, Billy, I can't tell if you're being facetious or not, but I can honestly say, there but for the grace of God go I!

If I had been born into a Muslim family and been indoctrinated with such lies, I, too, might be a "low-life, God-hating, murderous thug." So although I don't agree with or condone what they are doing, I believe it's definitely right to pray for them to come to know Jesus and the Truth of God's love.

By the way, I'm NOT saying that they should be let off the hook from civil laws and justice. Those are definite consequences of heinous sins. What I am saying is that I want these people to come to know Jesus–it's God's will that NO ONE should perish (as far as I can tell, that includes Palestinian "thugs" and terrorists).

  • I've seen uncencorsed pictures of the horrific bloody massacre of innocents by monsterous Palestinians blowing themselves up in Israel.

I have NO problem praying for wrath of God to come upon them.

  • King David prayed for God's wrath to come down on his enemies, and he was a man after God's own heart. Was he wrong?

Who's to say that God's wrath isn't the catalyst for repentance in many cases?

  • I suspect the reason Dr Reagan prays for God's wrath to be poured out on the Palestinian leaders is because they are corrupt terrorist murderers who think nothing of sacrificing women and children for propaganda in their evil cause.

I'm not sure that I personally pray for this, but if David feels that it is the only way they will be made to stop or repent (as thunder said), then he's entitled to pray for it.
