Antichrist Persona

Nathan Jones: Daniel 11:36-39 reveals the vile character of the coming Antichrist.

“Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.”

Not only the Prophet Daniel, but prolifically the Apostle John, along with numerous other biblical authors, have provided very detailed descriptions of the Antichrist’s wretched personality. When we combine the many biblical passages’ description, we are provided with a dossier of personality characteristics that form the portrait of what the Antichrist will be like.

These biblical passages prophesy a vile man who will eventually rise to rule the entire world. As he rises to power, everyone will think that he is such a great man. Indeed, at first he will bring peace and stability after the world reels from massive economic calamities and wars. The world will face such hardships after the Rapture that the leaders of the world willingly grant him unlimited power. Such a supposedly wonderful and benevolent peacemaker will promise to solve the world’s problems.

In reality, under the global governor’s peaceful veneer, he’s a total fake. The global potentate hides as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Holding a love for the “god of fortresses,” Revelation 6 reveals him at his heart to be a war-monger. In order to subjugate any opposition, the Willful King will plunge the world into total war.

Vic Batista: Indeed, this Antichrist is also described in the New Testament in Matthew 24; 2 Thessalonians 2; Revelation 6-19; and other passages. Therefore, without a shadow of a doubt, the Bible confirms that the culmination of the Time of the Gentiles leads to an inevitable world ruler.

Nathan Jones: Second Thessalonians 2 labels the Antichrist as the Man of Lawlessness. He’s describes as a braggart, an incredible egotist, and a blasphemer of God. He’s contemptuous of anybody who holds a different view than he does, and stamps out any opposing views. His demonic nature openly operates under Satan who personally possess the Antichrist. The Willful King thirsts for destruction. That’s why 2 Thessalonians 2 calls him the Man of Lawlessness, because he lives by no man’s law but his own. He formulates his own satanically inspired laws, all of which stand against the moral laws of God. He fights for everything anti-God.

Vic Batista: That spirit of the Antichrist, so to speak, already can so evidently be seen all across our world right now. The best example remains ISIS, especially when they were on the move slaughtering Christians and Jews in the name of their god Allah. The acts of hatred towards Jews and Christians has skyrocketed to an all new level. Anti-Semitic attacks are increasingly on the rise.

Nathan Jones: As the world gets more and more infected with a satanic rage, they’ll increasingly call for a global government and willingly accept whatever restrictions the Antichrist brings down upon mankind.

At first the Antichrist exalts the worship of man through a harlot religion, but by the midpoint of the Tribulation, morphs into taking the praise as if he was a god. To compare, the Romans worshiped the Caesars during the Roman Empire. The Antichrist as the global Caesar will seek the same self-worship.

Here we read in Daniel 11 about a coming tyrant whom the messenger angel describes as “the king shall do according to his own will,” or the Willful King. It’s basically the same description found in 2 Thessalonians 2. The angel describes this willful king as a braggart. He’s an incredible egotist, thinking he knows it all. He stands a head taller than the most contemptible Atheist, reveling as a terrible blasphemer of God. He contemptuously stands against everything that is related to God or any past gods. He creates a brand new religion, but at its core encapsulates Satanism.

The first segment of this series on the mighty angels of Daniel began with a tragic back story. In the sixty-seventh segment, we’ll attempt to understand why the Antichrist possesses no desire for women.

  • Why do you think this will be after the rapture? There will not be a rapture until the Messiah comes, this sounds real churchy to me.

    • Jane, Christ snatches up those saved to Heaven before the 7-year Tribulation begins. At the end of the Tribulation, He returns with those He had raptured seven years earlier. This article goes into great detail about why the Second Coming happens in two stages.
