We are continuing our series on the nine end times wars prophesied in the Bible. Most people are surprised to find out there are so many, knowing of only the Battle of Armageddon. But, there are nine, and now we’ll discuss the third war.

#3 – The Conventional War of the Tribulation (Revelation 6)

This brings us to the third end time war, which is the Conventional War of the Tribulation mentioned in Revelation 6. Although the Antichrist is going to rise to power in Europe through cunning, deception, intrigue, and his charismatic personality, I believe he will have to resort to military power to concur the world.

Asia, Africa, and Latin America have spent the last 200 years casting off European colonialism. They are not suddenly going to turn around to some European leader no matter how dynamic and charismatic he may be and say, “Please come and rule us.” They are not going to do that. They are going to resist any leader who rises to power in Europe regardless of how brilliant and charismatic he may be.

We are told in Revelation 13:7 that the Antichrist will ultimately achieve authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation, and I believe this authority will be achieved through war.

Revelation 6 records the outbreak of this world war. It results in the death of one-fourth of humanity. You ever stop and make those calculations? One-fourth of humanity in today’s terms would means that in this war which occurs at the beginning of the Tribulation will result in the deaths of 1 1/2 billion people! This carnage is called the Seal Judgments.

To review, the war of Psalm 83 results in the destruction of the inner ring of the Muslim states around Israel. That’s Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Gaza. Then comes the war of Ezekiel 38 and 39 which results in the destruction of the outer ring: Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia. Both the inner ring and the outer ring are destroyed in these two wars. In other words, what I think is going to happen here is that God is going to use the Antichrist as His hammer of wrath to destroy Islam in the Middle East.

But, there are many other nations of the world that also will have to be taken care of because all the remaining area there is the Muslim world. The largest Muslim nations in the world are not in the Middle East. The largest Muslim nations are Indonesia with 200 million, India with 145 million, Pakistan with 140 million, and Bangladesh with 115 million. Those are the big Muslim nations of the world, none of which are in the Middle East.

I think the Antichrist will have to continue his war to conquer Islam and then all the nations of the world.

In the fourth part of this series on the nine wars of the end times, we’ll look at the fourth in the progression — the Nuclear War of the Tribulation from Revelation 8 and 9. We’ll also catch our breaths and look at some application to our lives.

  • And if Egypt is destroyed as you say, then how is it that Egypt is still a world power fighting against the King of the North in Daniel 11?

  • Article: "The largest Muslim nations are Indonesia with 200 million, India with 145 million, Pakistan with 140 million, and Bangladesh with 115 million. Those are the big Muslim nations of the world, none of which are in the Middle East."

And for years I assumed the 200 million army from the east was going to be the Chinese.

Maybe not. Perhaps it will be the Muslims.

  • Anonymous, Psalm 83's mention of the Hagrites or Hagarenes would according to Bill Salus include the Egyptians. That's the one part of his theory most Bible prophecy scholars scratch their heads over, but it makes sense as Egypt isn't included in the Gog-Magog alliance.

Billy, the "kings of the East" don't march until Armageddon, and there wouldn't be Islam at that time due to Antichrist worship.

  • But if Egypt is destroyed as you say, then how is it that Egypt is still a world power fighting against the King of the North in Daniel 11?

  • Billy, the "kings of the East" don't march until Armageddon, and there wouldn't be Islam at that time due to Antichrist worship.

If this is the case, then who are those who are marching to attack the Antichrist? In other words, if they worship him, why are they attacking him? And if they are adversarial, then why couldn't they just as easily be Muslims as Chinese?

  • Lamb lion, I have studied Revelation 6 and it appears that you are mistaken. "When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth." So this rider was given authority over 1/4th of the earth, it doesn't say that 1/4th is going to die but that 1/4th of the earth will experience these judgements. It seems that the 1/4th might be Africa and the middle east.

  • Concerning the role of Muslims in the end times, check out the past segment on the Gog-Magog War. Not only will Islam likely be decimated at the onset of the Tribulation, but it cannot exist by Armageddon because the only religion allowed by the end of the Tribulation will be Antichrist worship.

Why would people rebel against the Antichrist? Look at the state of the world by the end of the Tribulation and how failed his leadership is.

Not just a fourth of the world will be affected by the judgments, but as Revelation 3:10b clearly shows, "…the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth."

  • But if Egypt is destroyed as you say, then how is it that Egypt is still a world power fighting against the King of the North in Daniel 11?
