Prophetic Perspectives #95: West Coast Burning

Are the fires ravaging the West Coast God’s judgment upon America for President Trump’s Deal of the Century? Find out with guest Amir Tsarfati of Behold Israel and Nathan Jones of the Lamb & Lion Ministries evangelism team as they provide their prophetic perspectives.

Nathan Jones: The West Coast is burning from Washington down to California. Well over 20 major fires are burning across the land. Hurricanes have been destroying towns along the southeast coastline. And so, you’ve got to wonder, are these natural disasters tied at all to the peace accord called the Deal of the Century that is being brokered with Israel? Is God currently judging America for dividing Israel’s land? Amir Tsarfati has joined us to unpack these questions.

Amir, let’s start off by looking at Luke 21:11. It reads, “And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.” These are some of the signs of the end times that Jesus prophesied would happen in the last days. These are called “remedial judgments of God.”

Remedial judgments were defined in Deuteronomy 28. If a nation disobeys God then it can expect economic failure, the rebellion of the youth, an epidemic of divorce, confusion in government, foreign domination, military defeat — here we go — natural disasters, drought, crop failure, and pestilence. We read in the Bible how God placed remedial judgments on the Pharoah in Egypt during the Exodus. Much later, King Ahab experienced a severe drought. The book of Joel told of a plague of locusts descending. The book of Haggai tells about how the people were lethargic about rebuilding the Temple so God caused their crops to turn to dust.

People are looking at these biblical stories of remedial judgments and where the Bible says that anyone who touches Israel is like poking God in the eye, for Israel is the apple of God’s eye. They see the warnings about how anyone who attempts to divide the land of Israel will have God respond by sending these remedial judgments. They believe this is what is now happening to America as we experience tremendously devastating judgments, especially along the West Coast.

Amir, do you see these judgments — these end times signs of nature — connected to the peace process President Donald Trump is brokering in the Middle East?

Amir Tsarfati: Absolutely not! Categorically, absolutely not. And, let me tell you why. Are there no other reasons for God to judge America, just the peace accord? If these disasters are a judgment, then I would say the last problem America has right now is its relations with Israel. After all, when Americans are burning Bibles in Portland, and when they cuss Jesus’ name, and 60 million abortions… With all due respect, I believe these transgressions are far more reason for God’s judgment than brokering a peace treaty that benefits Israel more than anything that we can imagine.

People don’t understand. When Donald Trump introduced his Deal of the Century, and I know this first-hand, by the way, from talking with senior officials in the cabinet of Donald Trump, that this deal was never meant to be accepted by the Palestinians. When you read what is expected from the Palestinians, it’d be like expecting a BLM leader to vote for Trump. It’s never going to happen. Look, the Palestinians were offered a state. If they wanted a state, under Trump’s Deal, they just had to demilitarized Gaza, disarm Hamas, forget about controlling the Old City and the Temple Mount, forget about the right of return of all of their people, and they have to acknowledge that not a single Jew will have to leave their homes in the West Bank. That’s it!

Nathan Jones: Somehow, I don’t see the Palestinian leadership accepting those terms.

Amir Tsarfati: The Palestinians have said no to far more that had been offered to them in the past, so why would they say yes to this deal?

Nathan Jones: Weren’t the Palestinians once offered almost all of Jerusalem and they still said no?

Amir Tsarfati: They said no. My point is this — what happened after the Palestinians turned down the Deal of the Century? Arab countries began to sign on to the Abraham Accord and make peace with Israel.

President Trump is a genius. Some people think he is uneducated, but I think he brings a new level of political wisdom to the table because he is a businessman. He said, “Look, guys, we’ve tried for 20-something years to do things your way, well, it doesn’t work.” Trading land for peace does not work because the Palestinians don’t look into the face of reality. Isn’t Jerusalem the capital of Israel? It is. So, what exactly are they trying to do? Isn’t Israel a Jewish state declared by its own founding document? Yes, it is. So, the Palestinians must acknowledge that Israel is indeed the Jewish state. But, they don’t want to. So, you see, Trump is telling the Palestinians that since they don’t look reality in the face, they’ll never have anything.

Nathan Jones: What about the crux of these peace accords? Some people claim that the Deal of the Century is giving Palestinians Israel’s land, therefore, America is dividing Israel’s land and in return, God is judging our nation with all of these natural disasters. Please clarify if this is true or if we’re just hung up on the idea.

Amir Tsarfati: If I drove right now, even two years ago or even six years ago, well before Trump was elected, in order to drive from Jerusalem to Ramallah, I’d have to pass through a checkpoint. The reason being is that the land had already been divided in Oslo back in 1993 or 1994. So, the Palestinian Authority maybe is not a state, but it is a political entity that controls land which I am not allowed on.

Nathan Jones: I remember when our tour group traveled to Bethlehem, our Jewish tour guide got off the bus outside of the city and we picked up a Palestinian tour guide.

Amir Tsarfati: So, don’t tell me Trump is dividing the land. It has already been divided. If anything, Trump is saying to the Jews that they will not be leaving their homes, unlike every peace deal that has been offered before that required Jewish people to evacuate their homes and had their homes dismantled. Trump’s plan says that every Jew and Palestinian will remain in their homes.

And so, the Palestinian’s dream for a state is — poof — gone. The Palestinians ongoing tactic of telling Israel they have to sign on with them first before there can be peace with other countries collapses as well. The veto the Palestinians had is gone.

Nathan Jones: I see the Palestinians in Gaza even held a mock funeral where they carried down the streets a coffin with the Arab League’s name on it.

Amir Tsarfati: The Arab League was founded in 1945 and became the biggest platform for the Palestinians who always used it to attack Israel. The Palestinians counted on America’s support when Barack Obama was president. They counted on the European’s support. They counted on the Arab League’s support. They lost America’s support when Trump was elected. They lost the Europeans support because now the EU is not united anymore. Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania… these countries must agree to everything in order for the EU to move forward. Now the Palestinians have lost the support of the Arab League. It’s like their world has come to an end.

That’s the genius of the Deal of the Century — the Palestinians get nothing and Israel gets peace. But, this peace is leading to Ezekiel’s war. Who is getting angry right now? It’s the Iranians, the Russians, and the Turks who are meddling with Lybia and the Sudan.

Nathan Jones: That coalition of nations that has always been enemies has of late found a reason to unite.

Amir Tsarfati: Absolutely. I look at these events as a wonderful thing because I see a convergence of prophetic events leading up to Ezekiel 38-39’s War of Gog and Magog. I’m not excited about Ezekiel’s war, mind you, but I pray and trust the Lord that He will take the Church out of here before then.

Nathan Jones: With the focus of God going from the Church to Israel, and with God supernaturally defending Israel against the Gog-Magog invaders, that transition leads me to believe the Gog-Magog War will be a post-Rapture event.

Amir Tsarfati: I love that!

Nathan Jones: The message for Christians then is: “Don’t worry. We live in difficult times, but God has us safely in His hands.” Sure, there are quite a lot of remedial judgments going on, and we must respond. How should we respond? By asking the Lord to forgive us of our sins, both individually and nationally, and maybe God will truly forgive us and take these disasters away. Keep praying and looking up, for Jesus is coming soon!
