We Are Living in Biblical Times (Part 1)

We Are Living in Biblical Times

David Reagan: This week Lamb & Lion Ministries has been airing the next to the last Christ in Prophecy television program that I will be hosting before Tim Moore takes over as the ministry’s new Director. We have dedicated it to the fundamental theme that God established for this ministry 41 years ago, in April of 1980, the year when the ministry was established. The theme was, and still is, to proclaim to as many people as possible as quickly as possible that Jesus Christ is returning soon.

Signs Preceding the Second Coming

David Reagan: I was recently having lunch with a gentleman and we were discussing the First Coming of Jesus Christ. He suddenly leaned forward and said, “David, wouldn’t it have been exciting to live in Bible times?” My response was, “Sir, we ARE living in Bible times!” People often become mystified when I tell them that we are living in Bible times — right now. So, we are going to explain what I mean.

Tim Moore: We are living in Bible times because all of the end times signs prophesied throughout the Bible, both Old and New Testament, are coming to pass right before our very eyes. People throughout the centuries have been looking forward to seeing these signs manifest that would indicate we are living in the season of the Lord’s return. They took it by faith that Jesus could return even during their lifetime. Finally, today, we are the generation seeing the signs multiplying all around us, proving that we are living in the season of the Lord’s return.

David Reagan: Most Christians are likely familiar with the signs that proceeded the First Coming of Jesus: He is going to be born in Bethlehem, be born of a virgin, and so forth. But, because Bible prophecy is so seldom taught in churches today, a lot of Christians are astounded to learn that signs are proceeding the Second Coming because they’ve been told there is nothing you can know about Christ’s return. They’ve been taught that event is going to be a total surprise. You shouldn’t even worry about it.

What then do we mean when we are talking about the signs proceeding the Second Coming?

Nathan Jones: There’s been a big disconnect, I think, for many of us who grew up in Sunday School because we read the Bible and believe it all happened some 2,000 years ago. Suddenly, the Bible ended, and nothing’s happened for 2,000 years since, except Church history. Sure, we were taught that one day Jesus is going to come back and we will move on into the Eternal State, but no further details.

That Amillennial type of view which many churches have adopted robs Christians of the fact that we are still living in Bible times because the Bible has prophecies that lead up to Christ’s return. For example, chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation contain Church history, covering the seven stages of the Church Age. Then the Rapture of the Church happens, which the Bible provides signs that lead up to the Rapture. Then there’s the book of Revelation with its 21 different judgments that are still yet to come, and that Tribulation time period also is proceeded by signs leading up to the Second Coming of Jesus. And then, that time period is followed by Christ setting up His Millennial Kingdom.

So, there is so much more human history in the Bible that we have ahead of us that’s ignored by the Amillennial point of view. But, when you take the Premillennial point of view, as we do, you realize that we are still living in Bible times because the events prophesied are continuing to unfold.

Tim Moore: We certainly are! Many end times signs which the Bible provides, such as the signs of nature, point to the soon coming of Christ. Jesus said they’d increase in frequency and intensity like birth pains the closer we got to Christ’s return. Whether there’s an increase in storms, earthquakes, and all of the other natural calamities that we have been seeing evidence of in recent years, the signs of nature are well documented.

We also see the signs of society. Our ministry has documented this sign extensively. People only have to turn on the news or read the newspaper to see how our formerly Christian nation is declining at an accelerating pace. The rapid decline in society’s morality is one of those signs of society.

There are spiritual signs, both positive and negative.

There are the signs of world politics, showing how the nations are coming into prophetic alignment. Just about 12-plus years ago, President Obama discounted the idea that Russia would ever be a threat in the Middle East or in the world. And yet, here again, Russia has emerged as a threat on the northern doorstep of Israel, just as predicted by the prophet Ezekiel.

We have been given the signs of technology prophesying how technology is quickly enabling the fulfillment of various Bible prophecies.

And, of course, we have the signs of Israel. Look to Israel as God’s prophetic time clock.

For believers in Christ, we shouldn’t be ignorant of these signs. As a matter of fact, the Apostle Paul when writing to the church in Thessalonica, in 1 Thessalonians 5, said that, yes, the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, but it will not come as a thief for you. He said in chapter 5 verse 4, “But you, brethren, are not in darkness that the day would overtake you like a thief.” In other words, he indicated that we should be able to recognize the signs of the times and so realize when the coming of the Lord to Rapture the Church would be right upon us.

Nathan Jones: These end times signs are happening all at the same time. It’s not just a few here and a few there. No, they are happening all at the same time. Dr. Ron Rhodes coined a term a few years back for this phenomenon — convergence. Hearing that word was like a lightbulb went off over my head. The convergence of the signs becomes a sign in and of itself. When all of these signs come together, and they increase in frequency and intensity as Jesus compared to birth pains, then the moment of delivery is about to finally occur. When a woman goes into labor, the contractions get closer and closer and the pain gets stronger and stronger. Likewise, we are seeing an exponential increase in these prophetic “birth pains,” so we know the time of the Lord’s return draws near.

In the second part of this series about why we live in Bible times, we will refute some of the other prophetic frameworks that reject futurist interpretation.

  • Considering the times we are in this is starting to become a moot point, but a pet peeve still of mine is hearing the USA be referred to as a Christian nation as Mr. Moore did. The majority of the population may proclaim to be Christian, but that is different from being an actual Christian nation. That implies are government is a theocracy that enforces Biblical laws.

So it should come as no surprise for anyone to learn its roots comes from postmillennial dominionists.

The Declaration of Independence makes it abundantly clear this nation was founded on the laws God gave to the Gentile nations (i.e. the Natural Law). Because Christianity and the Natural Law are so similar, (after all, God their Author doesn’t contradict Himself) people dangerously assume they are synonymous.

Here is Thomas Jefferson providing an example from history of the chicanery that awaits when the two start mixing.

“In truth, the alliance between Church and State in England has ever made their judges accomplices in the frauds of the clergy; and even bolder than they are. For instead of being contented with these four surreptitious chapters of Exodus, they have taken the whole leap, and declared at once that the whole Bible and Testament in a lump, make a part of the common law; ante 873: the first judicial declaration of which was by this same Sir Matthew Hale. And thus they incorporate into the English code laws made for the Jews alone, and the precepts of the gospel, intended by their benevolent author as obligatory only in foro concientiae; and they arm the whole with the coercions of municipal law.” ~Thomas Jefferson, letter to Dr. Thomas Cooper

  • One cannot ignore what is taking place in the Land of Israel 🇮🇱. We as God’s children are to Earnestly Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. One would be wise, not to take up a stone against Israel 🇮🇱. The Apple of God’s Eye. God’s land, God’s children. America 🇺🇸 needs to always, always, always, stand with Israel 🇮🇱. God is Watching. Amen.

  • Considering the times we live in….the truth remains that our country was founded by people wanting to escape persecution for their Christian, Bible-based beliefs! They wanted a better life, free from persecution, free from over-taxation, etc…our laws, were and still are, based on Judeo-Christian beliefs, derived from the Bible. The majority of people who founded our country were God-fearing people…they all were not Born-again Christians necessarily, but they knew there was a God in Heaven, and the need to be governed by it, by the Bible’s precepts. The founding Fathers wanted a place to have freedom from tyranny of all sorts. Some people want to call our country a non-Christian country or whatever term they choose, but, these people are being legalistic, in my humble opinion, because they want to “swallow a camel, and swat at a flea!” I thank God for those who did found this country as one based on Christian, Bible-based beliefs….otherwise, what or whose beliefs would you want it founded on? God knew what He was doing when he allowed our founders to do what they did.

  • Yes, Friends, we =are= living in Biblical Times. The one mission I have is – Most people think of the DC riots when they think of Donald Trump. But he did one incredible thing during his Term of Office.

Slightly before the date Pres. Trump signed three Executive Orders.

The first was allowing the United States to officially recognize Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel.

The second was to order the American Embassy in Tel Aviv to move to Jerusalem.

The third was to order the US Embassy in Jerusalem to officially open its doors on May 14, 2018. The last Biblical this that occurred on this date was that Israel was admitted to the UN – making it a recognized nation again.

This is =exactly= 70 years after the Nation of Isreal was recognized. That is one Biblical generation.

This means that people who were living during that time will be the ones that see the conclusion of Jesus’ Master Plan!!!

  • For the last week, when I tune into YouTube the first video I get is of a war. Mainly Israel and Hamas, but also Russia against Germany, Asian countries against one another, Hezbollah against Israel. etc. Are not these rumors of wars? I think that this is a form of bottle capping the tensions that will one day erupt in a great war. Jacob’s trouble is here.

  • Thank you for your continuing ministry. The Absolute Truth of God’s Word is under constant assault, not from the world but from the compromised and/or apostate church. The need to speak truth without waffling or holding up ones finger to determine the PC fad of the month is great. This ministry stands firm on proclaiming that TRUTH in power and in love.

  • I understand why Dr. Reagan isn’t the most popular in this generation. Neither were my grandparents among my cousins or siblings. But I’ll always prefer their sound principles over the woodstock generation. It’s with my sincerest regards that I extend my gratitude for your life long message of moral reflection. I pray for me that I can ever reach that level of standards. I pray for you that your retirement keeps you in company of our Savior that you may never be alone.

  • There are so many signs that Jesus prophesied that have been fulfilled and are being fulfilled at this moment. Many don’t know the signs of his coming. Israel surrounded by its enemies is definitely the signs of the End of the Age, also people rejecting sound doctrine of the Word of God and following the doctrines of men that to appeal to their own wants. 2 Timothy 4:3, False prophets and teachers bringing the way of truth into disrepute, 2 Peter 2:1, the push for global government, Signs and wonders in the heavens, Luke 2:11, Distress of nations with perplexity, Luke 21:25, Good would be called evil, and evil would be called good. Isaiah 5:20, inventing ways of doing evil Romans 1:29. Friendship with the world results in losing our integrity, conscience, inner peace, and eternal soul. Proverbs 29:25.

  • Your cover photo of the Palestinian flag around the person’s face is Bible prophecy if we open our minds. The universal colors of Islam, white, red, black and pale green. It is everywhere if you look. The colors of the four horsemen of Revelation 6:1-8. Mohammad, Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman. The true meaning of Revelation and the vast spiritual war with the beast from the Abyss, Baal.

    • Each horseman’s description in Revelation 6 describes what each of the horsemen is – Antichrist, War, Famine/Plague, and Death. Devastatingly, the Horsemen of the first four Seal Judgments result in the death of one-fourth of humanity (Rev. 6:1-8).

      • Yes, Nathan, what the Horsemen represent is all explained. I am glad your website explains things in great detail….. I understand this is the first of the three seven part judgments. The Trumpets, Revelation chapters 8-9 and the bowls chapter 17 are the other two. As each seal is opened, Christ the Lamb sets in motion events that bring about the end of human history. This scroll is not completely opened until the seventh seal is broken (8:1). The contents of the scroll reveal mankind’s depravity and portray God’s authority over the events of human history. The Four Horses appear as the first four seals are opened, and they represent God’s judgment on people’s sin and rebellion. God is directing human history….even using his enemies to accomplish his purposes. I wish everyone would read and understand the Bible and what is to come, so they can be saved by the Lord before the terrible judgments on this earth, that is my prayer.

  • When you say “look to Israel” for signs of the times, then I would suggest telling the last days story that is told through the major and minor prophets. If you don’t tell the full and true story of what is last days ‘Israel,’ then you are missing a huge chunk of what is prophecy for these last days. This borders on replacement theology.
