The Election Dilemma

Election 2012

PDF

Over the past few months we have been inundated with inquiries about the presidential election. All of these have expressed a great sense of frustration about the choice we are faced with. And that is understandable when you consider the fact that neither of the two main candidates is a Christian.

Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney certainly is not a Christian. He has been spiritually deceived into giving his heart to a false religion that masquerades as Christian.

Since its founding back in the 1830’s, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) has taken the position that it is the one and only true church and that all the rest of Christendom, both Catholic and Protestant, is apostate.

The Mormons teach and preach a false Jesus who is not God in the flesh. Instead, He is portrayed as one of thousands of subordinate gods who were created by the super god of this planet, who is an exalted man.

The Mormons thus deny the trinitarian concept of God that is revealed in the Scriptures. They reject the truth that Jesus was God in the flesh, and they view the Holy Spirit as an impersonal force.

The Mormons teach salvation by good works, in direct contradiction to the Bible’s teaching that salvation is by grace through faith, and not by works (Ephesians 2:8-10). And the Mormons teach that their most faithful followers will become gods themselves with their own planets to populate and rule. In short, Mormons are polytheists.

Mormonism thus presents “another gospel” that is foreign to the gospel of the Bible. And the Apostle Paul declared that all non-biblical gospels are an anathema and that those who proclaim them are to be “accursed” (Galatians 1:8-9).

Barack Obama

President Barack Obama is also not a Christian, despite his claims to be one. I proved this conclusively in the third edition of my book, America the Beautiful? (2009).

In an interview he gave in 2004, Obama stated point-blank, “I believe there are many paths to the same place [Heaven].” To the contrary, Jesus said there was only one, and He was it (John 14:6).

When Obama was asked, “Who’s Jesus to you?” he responded that Jesus was an “historical figure,” “a bridge between God and Man,” and a “wonderful teacher.” There was no expression of Jesus as God in the flesh, the Savior who died for our sins.

Obama shocked his interviewer by saying that there was one thing in particular about Christianity that he had difficulty dealing with — and that is the tendency of many Christians to engage in evangelism! He said he believed the desire to proselytize was based on a belief that if “people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, that they’re going to Hell.” Obama has obviously never heard of Jesus’ Great Commandment to preach the Gospel to all the world (Mark 16:15-16).

Because of highly unorthodox comments like these about Christianity, and because of his obvious enthusiasm for Islam, many have concluded that Obama is a closet Muslim. I don’t think so. Based on his statements and his policies, I have concluded that Obama is a classic Humanist, meaning that he is a person who believes in the essential goodness of Man and his ability to achieve fulfillment on his own through the power of reason.

Remedial Judgments

One of the main points I made in my book, America the Beautiful?, is that when a nation blessed by God turns its back on its Benefactor, God will place remedial judgments upon the nation in order to call it to repentance. And one of those judgments can be that of giving the nation the kind of leaders it deserves.

That was certainly the case in 2008 when Barack Obama was elected president.

The continuing judgment of God upon our nation can be seen in the choice for President we are now presented with. For the first time in U.S. history, neither candidate is a Christian.

A Clear Choice

But despite that fact, we are confronted with a real choice. It is not a matter of Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

On one hand, we have a candidate who is a non-Christian Mormon. He believes in traditional family and moral values, he respects the heritage of America, he supports Israel, he recognizes Islam as our nation’s enemy, and he believes in Capitalism.

On the other hand, we have a candidate who is a non-Christian Humanist. He rejects traditional family and moral values, he despises our nation’s heritage, he holds Israel in contempt, he loves Islam, and he believes in Socialism.

The choice is not an ideal one. But there is a clear choice.

May God have mercy on our nation.

  • The "flesh" would have me choose "the lesser of two evils"…Poison that is 99% sugar is still poison…The Holy Spirit tells me to choose neither…for the heathen have made their choice as to who will lead them…hence the primary…I will choose to follow the The Holy Spirit.

  • If we don't vote, we vote for the winner.. and if Obama gets another 4 years, America is gone. and Christians will be killed for their beliefs.

I will never believe that he was voted in.. Acorn picked people up off the streets.. also some people in larger towns, saw buses coming across the state lines to vote again.. The Black Panthers stood in front of voting places with bats..Fox had pictures of it. If all Christians don't vote.. then KISS our children and Grand children good by.. because if Obama takes over, and he means to..Our grandchildren and children's future is gone.. and they will all be brainwashed into ISLAMIC religion. PLEASE VOTE PLEASE.. We have to get that devil's advocate out of our government. along with a lot of others.. but mainly him, since he owns Judges and all officials. Dose anyone really believe he is worried about voters when he says they don't need ID's. He wants their votes and then he will throw them out like yesterdays garbage. and Non Americans will not care what they do to America.. they will tear it down when they don't get their hand outs, because there won't be any money to give them, or true Americans.

  • Or the Rapture of the Church will happen before this years election. I've always wondered that the Rapture could happen during the Feast of Trumpets. That's the next Feast to be fulfilled. If Christ fulfilled the first four feasts then why would he not fulfill the last three. Just saying.

  • Dr. Reagan, do you think the Islamic will take over America?
I think that is why the Liberals are saving our energy, to give over to them for a price. If that is the case, I would not want to be them when the Obama gang, pays them back. We know it won't be what they think. Poor lost souls. It is hard to do, but we do need to pray for their greedy souls. I have a hard time doing it with these feeling I have inside.. I hope God will forgive me..

  • I hope and pray you are right. But with an Islamic in our White house, Who seems to be promoting his religion, I was wondering. What do you think of Glenn Beck? I saw a program he sponsered and It was all about loving and helping People.. I know they say he is a Mormon, but one time on one of his shows around Christmas, he said Christmas was all about Baby Jesus.

  • This article is not only ignorant, misinformed, and offensive, it is frightening. I would point by point discredit just about everything this author stated, but I will simply say instead, shame on anyone who believes any of this. Your compassion, faith, and your intelligence deserve better than this.

  • Anonymous is not only completely wrong, but does have the good sense to hide under a pseudonym. Mormons are polytheistic and their temple ceremonies are from masonic rites that Joseph learned and adopted.
Obama is a narcissist and it is always hard to get a fix on their beliefs since they feel the are either God or God-like. It is worrisome to read the thoughts of the sheep being mislead by the wolves…

  • Typical debate tactic to discredit the author but not state an actual case. Anon you said nothing but that you think you are better.

  • Mormons act the way Christians should, but at it;s core it is NOT a Christian faith. And Obama is more Muslim than Christian and a Socialist to boot. Not much of a choice but after 4 years ANYONE except him would have to be better.

  • Obama is now showing how he really feels.. he has Muslims at his convention. He is dropping the language on Jerusalem out of the platform.. Romney did call Jerusalem the capital of Israel. Obama is also trying to take God out of America. I am praying every night that Obama and his gang members are taken out of our Gov. I intend to vote, because even though Romney is a Mormon, I am hoping he won't persecute real Christians. I just hope we can have better selection Next time.. IF there is a next time to vote.

  • To be honest, I agree with your assessment of Mormonism and think you're right about Obama being a humanist too, no argument here.

However, despite being right about those individual's faith journeys (or lack thereof perhaps) there's a huge connection between God and America here as though the two are interconnected or though the new chosen people are the Americans (which Mormons believe by the way). There's also an immense amount of fear about one man (Obama) when congress (Republicans included) have done just as much to destroy the economy or public trust in government over the years. And many of those people are Christians…just human ones.

I do want someone in leadership with Christian values, but mainly ones that seek justice (not through nukes by the way) and don't get the success of America tied up with the success of Christianity. Christians should be the largest proponent of church and state separation becasue throughout history (Rome, Medieval, World War I and II, you name it) the state has brought the church down and diluted the chuch's mission more than the church has hurt the state. I site World War I specifically as each king was "blessed by God" and then the question…well who wins if God blessed them all? The result was an opening to belief in Hitler in one corner of Europe and the belief in humanism/communism in the others. The rest of the Western part just gave up on God because why follow a god that wants us to kill each other?

So…an educated article for sure. Thanks for that. But I'm curious if we're letting one man dictate too many of our emotions and fears. Perhaps it's us who let one person have too much power in our lives…and I'm not just talking about the ballot box.

  • As I read the Bible, sometimes I can see our connection to Israel. We came here and had a government ruled by God, and now we have turned away from him.. Just like Israel. I guess I can see why some people would believe the Idea that we have taken Israel's place. I think Jeremiah 33 is a great example to prove that Idea wrong. know there are lots of other scripture to prove that, but I think this is a good one to start with..

  • I was wondering what you think of John Hagee, Hal Lindsey and Charles Standley? I also listen to Jack Van Impe? and of course any of the writers in Rapture Ready. I did read in one of the articles in Rapture Ready that the Catholic church was what they were telling people to come out of her..What do you think about that?

  • I don't know who to vote for because we are all being deceived. One is definitely Anti American and of an Islam mind and culture. And the other clearly not a Christian but a man of good works. Mormons believes that Jesus failed and that real Jesus is coming. They believe they are the real church and they are gods in the making. That is not Christian. Read the book of mormons if you want to know the truth. I fear though that whoever wins will eventually turn away from israel. We can't assume it is Obama who will do that because Mormons believe they are the chosen, not the Jews. I fear that USA will eventually turn against Israel. But neither men are anti christ. I believe Anti Christ will be a European. I believe America has turned away from God or God has removed his protection. Thus we have totally unchristian men fighting for presidency. We don't have any men who truly honor God and serve Him anymore…Bush was the last Christian president; he was a praying man but look how the world made fun of him and mocked him. I agree 100% witht he article

  • What a lot of people don't seem to remember is that we can cast our vote for anyone we choose reguardless of who is on the ballot, by way of a write in. I say rather than not voting & hense allowing obama to win (when he shouldn't even be on the ballot because he is NOT a natural born citizen as required by the consitution) I say cast your vote for Senator Santorum if he had the money that Romney had he would have won the nomination hands down, and because he is so much not like Obama he would have won the whole election. I PICK RICK!

  • PeeDee59;
I need only know that Obama is a community Organizer who follows Saul Alenski who dedicated his book of tatics, "Rules for Radicals" as follows:

"Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer." — Saul Alinsky

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rules_for_Radicals

  • I will vote for neither candidate. I believe we have reached a point in time where prophecy is being quickly fulfilled. (Matthew 24:22)Certain things MUST come to pass. God will allow the person He chooses to win, and that person will do what God has decided must happen–what has been prophecied. I will trust God–with whatever comes to pass. I was struck by one poster's quote of Saul Alinsky's tribute to Lucifer. I can understand why that might make someone vote for Obama's opposition. However, Mitt Romney believes that same Lucifer is "spirit brother" to our Lord Jesus Christ. I cannot cast a vote for a man who believes that blasphemy. There is no "lesser of the two evils."

  • The Christian vote is obvious. Christians should vote for the man who will stand up for our VALUES if not necessarily our BELIEFS.

The candidate of Judeo-Christian VALUES is Mitt Romney and he will get my vote.

  • I get so confused about who to vote for and I think I am like many Christian Americans. It is also difficult to overcome the party loyalty we have come to over the years and the desire to be to be a "good citizen" and exercise our right to vote, but the candidates are so confusing this year! I pray daily for God to lead us to vote for the right person. But in my heart (and maybe it is the answer I ask from God), I think that sin is sin, and evil is evil. There is no difference in which is worse. There is no lesser of two evils in God's eyes. Our country is faced with non-Christian choices this time. Even though I share a lot of the values Romney appears to have, and even though I also agree with some of the beliefs Obama seems to have, they are neither one Christian. I have also always believed no vote is a vote for the winner.

I have a very hard time with Mormonism. I feel that religeon comes under the realm of what is said in 2 John 7-10 and I just can't seem to "Invite him into my house" of the United States of America. I also believe Humanist or not, Obama has strong Muslum beliefs and is not actually Christian. I can't seem to "Invite him into my house."

Based on 2 John 11, and even though I know I am covered by the Blood of the Lamb, when I stand before God and Jesus to answer for what I have done in my life, I don't want to have to explain why I invited the "deceiver" into my house. I don't think God will ask my why I didn't vote. So, I think I will sit this one out. I know God is in charge, and he might be giving America the choices they deserve, but the winner will be the winner without my vote.

America seems to be headed in the wrong direction, but it is a path the majority have taken. Many of us are in this world but not of this world. I know my direction, and I will do my best to spread the good news. Without God, we can do nothing, with him we can do anything. Keep praying for America.

  • It is indeed a difficult choice. As Christians we must remember, though, that a political office such as the Presidency is a secular office. While it's vitally important to the health of the nation that we have a God-fearing President, we cannot expect that will be the case in every election.

Also as Christians, while we're living on this planet we need to be a restrainer on evil in all levels of society, even knowing this world will eventually perish. Sometimes that means making alliances with non-Christians who have the same goal. For this reason many Christians will most likely end up voting for Mitt Romney to stem the tide of evil prevalent in the current government which holds a far more humanistic agenda.

The Mormons believe in doing good works to get to Heaven. Doing good is a great thing and a natural outpouring of our love for God, but of course those good works will not be enough to get us to Heaven. For it is by God’s grace we have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works, as Ephesians 2:8-9 tell us (also Rom. 3:20; Gal. 2:16; 2 Tim. 1:9). Therefore, I believe we'd find Romney working hard at doing good, and we've even heard his statements supporting Israel.

As a Christian we shouldn't feel guilty voting for a person who may not be a Christian who is campaigning for a secular position. The important thing is we pick the right candidate to stem the tide of evil and do what's best for our nation, and remember that God is the one who raises up and tears down leaders (Rom. 13:1).

Chuck Norris has a great response to not using our right to vote.

  • There have been Presidents that did not believe in the divinity of Jesus.

I know John Adams (and I think his son John Quincy) as well as William Howard Taft did not believe Jesus was the Son of God.

  • Anon,

You can't just look as your vote as deciding the Presidency. I think even MORE SO it will decide the fate of the nation based on Supreme Court appointments.

If Obama gets a second term he likely will shift the balance of power from (usually) conservative to not just liberal but to the far left for a long, long time to come. This will be a disaster for America and our personal freedoms including religion and speech. Christianity may OFFICIALLY and LEGALLY become a hate crime if one dares speak out against homosexuality.

Please vote to try and stop the danger of Christians becoming criminals in America just as they are in so many other places.

  • One doesn't get into that office without selling their souls to someone (campaign promises/bribes/secret societies/free mason) and it doesn't matter which side of the aisle their on because it's the same agenda taking different paths to achieve the same goal… Lucifer offered Yeshua all the kingdoms of the world if he would just bow down to him… It's not a temptation is no there's no merit to the claim, ergo Lucifer owns all the kingdoms of the world and that includes Washington D.C. So therefore I'm not voting for either… Picking the lesser of two evils is still picking evil… This country is still going to hell in a hand-basket and the only thing this years election does is decide the pace at which is goes…

  • Anon,

    You're a FOOL…even worse…a DISGRACE!

To not exercise a right that most people dont' have and many Americas DIED FOR! DIED FOR!

    Go away.

    • Psalm 14:1 "The FOOL hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."

So I'm a fool huh? Weird that your context and the bible's context usage of that particular word do not align?

People died and human life is precious but I measure life as God does, as being eternal… So don't be so short sighted when it comes to measuring the value of those we have lost even if it be for the purpose of freedom… They're still around, alive and kicking!

And so, I think I'll stick around… How you doin?

  • Where has Obama persecuted Christians I am Canadian & first I heard of this Very interested in what will happen. perhaps antiChrist will come oit of EU?7

  • By the way, my mother-n-law said she thought Obama was/is the anti-Christ but personally I think that the republicans big mistake last time was Sarah We gave a sigh of relief to know she wasn't the stand in. I like Joe Biden but not too sure about Obama BUT thought it worth it to see the light in one young black mans eyes when Obama won tosee hope

  • If u don't know who to vote for , ask a child under 12 years of age to look at the candidate.Even though we are Canadian, my son who was under 12 at the time of the last election was upset over McCainnot winning He said he just knew he was the better man

  • The difference between conservative and liberal…conservatives are color-blind. Liberals aren't.

A conservative wants a president who will stand for American and Judeo-Christian values. For the "American Trinity" as Dennis Prager describes as:

    1. "E pluribus unum" which means "out of many, one".

    2. Liberty.

    3. In God We Trust.

The Democrats first DELETED them mentioning of God from their platform then when it was attempted to put it back in the liberals at the convention shouted "BOO!" to God. They didn't want God back in their platform. They felt "good riddance".

Make NO mistake…the GODLESS platform was OBAMA's platform. But they got caught and he ran scared only because he needs votes.

Back to my original point. Conservatives want a MAN or WOMAN who upholds American and Judeo-Christian values and don't care if the person is white, black, brown or whatever. We are color-blind.

Only liberals would vote JUST for someone because of their color.

That is ignorant. Our race is human, not color.

  • Anon,

Me short sighted. YOU dishonor the sacrifice of every American soldier that has ever DIED for our rights, including the right to vote.

Fine, don't honor their memory and sacrifice to duty to protect YOUR rights by not voting.

I will vote. I will honor those brave men and women and think of them as I cast my vote.

Don't bother with a reply, I won't be coming back to this post to read it. You disgust me.

  • Let's not get into flaming.

But, I do have to agree that anyone who doesn't vote is in essence voting anyway. As Chuck Norris pointed out in the video above, the last election was won by 10 million votes, but 30 million professing Christians sat it out. Sure, our home is in Heaven, but for now we as the Body of Christ live here and have a responsibility to stem the tide of evil.

  • Nathan,

Sorry but emotions do kick in when you tie in our right to the sacrifices of our soldiers that have been killed or injured in defense of those rights. The thought of the sacrifice on their part being disgraced by someone who diminishes that sacrifice by not honoring them by treating the right to vote as any less than treasured stirs up those emotions.

However, I will take your words to heart and put a damper on my expressions.

  • The proper word in my last post should have been "sacred", not "treasured". The soldiers' sacrifice of life and limb has made the right to vote a SACRED one.

  • When you board a flight do you check to see if the Captain is a Christian or do you go anyway? Most of our recent presidents were just nominal Christians at best. The differences are so clear it's a no brainer.
    Mo

  • Well said, Maurie!
"It is not the function of our Government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the Government from falling into error."
    American Communications Assn. v. Douds, 339 U.S. 382 – U.S. Supreme Court

  • God will use either of the two for his glory. I don't favor either of them, never the less, his will be done. So don't let your heart be troubled, for God is in control.

  • Jesus said "My kingdom is not of this world", THerefore "my" kingdom is also not of this world, considering I am a blood bought member of Christ's Kingdom. I would no more vote in this election than I would endeavor to travel to spain, or russia or any other country to vote in theirs. It has nothing to do with me. My task is to go into all the world and make disciples of Christ and to teach those disciples to obey all that my Lord commanded. That I will do by the grace of God and the power of his spirit. One soul won to the kingdom is worth more than all the election results ever to exist. God Bless.
