We are continuing to share with you the opinions of 17 Bible prophecy experts concerning various questions related to the book of Daniel. You should find these interviews fascinating and very informative. The interviews were conducted at a national Bible prophecy conference that was held in the Dallas, Texas area.

The sixth and last question looks pointedly at the book of Daniel as one of the most important prophetic books in the Bible. It contains so many great prophecies, such as the succession of world empires portrayed in chapter two and the incredible prophecy of the 70 Weeks of Years in chapter nine. With all these major prophetic messages, one message in Daniel should stand out from the rest.

So the question for our experts is this:

#6. What is the most important prophetic message of the book of Daniel?

Al Gist, Maranatha Evangelistic Ministries
I think the fundamental prophetic message concerns the great master plan of God. God has an ordained schedule of events that He’s carrying out.

Many times in our own national life here in the United States, we get very concerned about where our future lies. What’s about to happen with the economy? What’s going on with the world scene? What’s happening in the Middle East?

I take great comfort that from the book of Daniel we can be assured that God has a plan that He’s working out step-by-step. To me, that’s the fundamental prophetic message. God is still on His throne and He is taking care of things, just like He always said He would.

Andy Woods, Sugar Land Bible Church
The most important prophetic message to me concerns the times of the Gentiles. Israel had entered into a really unique time where she had no king reigning on David’s throne. It’s a period of time that began with Nebuchadnezzar in 586 when he deposed the last king of Judah who was Zedekiah. And so, that started this terrible time period for Israel when the Gentiles would be on top trampling down Israel. That time period begins in 586 BC and goes all the way through time to the Second Coming of Jesus. So, the times of the Gentiles are still going on right now. Israel is being trampled down by various pagan powers right now.

The book of Daniel contains prophecies regarding how Israel is to live and what she’s prophetically going to experience during this Gentile-dominated time period. The specific empires that would trample down Israel over that time are given. Specific prophecies are given about the coming Antichrist, and even about the coming of their own Messiah.

Daniel prophetically covers that gap of time called the Times of the Gentiles. To me, this is a tremendous prophetic message for Israel.

Arnold Fruchtenbaum, Ariel Ministries
I think the most important prophetic message from the book of Daniel is to outline the crossover from the times of the Gentiles between the end of the theocratic kingdom for Israel and the re-establishment of the theocratic kingdom through the Messianic Kingdom. That provides a basic outline of four Gentile empires. If you keep that in mind, you won’t be persuaded by suggestions that there will be a fifth kingdom with an Arab Antichrist and an Arab Empire, and so on. But, whatever happens, the Antichrist has to come out of one of these four empires. Accordingly, the Antichrist will come from the Fourth Empire.

August Rosado, Today in Bible Prophecy Ministries
I’ve got to say Daniel 7:13-14 is the most important prophetic message, where Daniel says, “The Son of Man is coming to the Ancient of Days.” The book of Daniel doesn’t paint a pretty picture in some areas, and neither does the book of Revelation. But, when we get to the end of history, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, because one day Jesus Christ is going to physically and bodily establish a kingdom right here on this earth in the city of Jerusalem in the land of Israel.

How long will Jesus’ kingdom here on earth last? That’s going to be for 1,000 years. How do we know 1,000 years? Well, Revelation 20:2-7 six times tells us a thousand years, a thousand years, a thousand years. That’s not allegorical. That’s not spiritual. That’s not Jesus coming back in our hearts, as some are teaching, or that we’re living in the Kingdom right now. Listen, if we’re living in the Kingdom right now, I’m sorry I signed up for this deal. No, we know better than that.

Daniel 7:14 says that the Lord Jesus Christ will establish a kingdom that will not be destroyed and is not going to pass away. Daniel has a lot to say about that kingdom. Those of us who know Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Savior are going to reign with Jesus in that Kingdom. For 1,000 years we are all going to be Israeli’s. Praise the Lord!
