Is the Sun Setting on America?

Trump v Clinton

The composite photo above is an illustration of God’s judgment upon this nation.

Regardless of which person wins the presidential election, our nation will be the loser. The secularization and paganization of our nation will continue.

America can never be great again as long as we continue to murder 3,000 babies a day and we continue to flood the world with pornography and blasphemous, immoral and violent movies and television programs. We are the moral polluter of planet earth, and the only concern of our people and political leaders seems to be the economy and jobs.

We are incapable of facing the truth that God is not going to bless our economy as long as we thumb our nose at Him and His Word.

So, we are reaping what we have sown. We are faced with a choice between a dishonest, powerhungry Humanist who could not tell the truth if she had to; and an ego-maniacal, glory-seeking Hedonist with a gutter mouth and a sleazy lifestyle.

Our nation’s foremost Evangelical spokesperson today is Dr. Albert Mohler, the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. In a recent editorial, he presented an insightful observation about the eroding moral values of our nation.

He pointed out that during the 1976 presidential campaign between Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, our nation’s Evangelical leaders were outraged when Carter became the first presidential candidate in history to give an interview to Playboy magazine. Forty years later, we find ourselves with Evangelical leaders who are salivating over the candidacy of Donald Trump — a man who has been featured on the cover of Playboy!

Again, regardless of who wins the election, America will continue to disintegrate. The only question will be at what speed. If Clinton triumphs, our descent into darkness will be accelerated because she will call evil good and good evil. If Trump wins, our disintegration may be slowed, but it will continue, for what good can come from an unrighteous leader?

As I have said many times before, “The only hope for America is Jesus.” And that means our nation has no hope, for we have turned our back on Jesus. We have forsaken the very One who blessed us so mightily. We have given the heart of our nation to the god of money, and in the process, we have become a materialistic, hedonistic greedy people who are crying out for the judgment of God.

In Romans chapter one, Paul outlines in detail how God deals with a rebellious nation He has blessed. There are three steps.

First, God will lower His hedge of protection around the nation and allow sin to multiply (Romans 1:24-25). The result is a sexual revolution, like the one that occurred in our nation during the 1960s.

If the nation refuses to repent, God will take a second step back, lower the hedge of protection further, and a plague of homosexuality will break loose (Romans 1:26-27). That began in our nation in the 1980s and 90s and culminated in 2003 when the Supreme Court struck down anti-sodomy laws and thus legalized homosexual behavior.

If the nation persists in its rebellion, God will take a third step back, lower the hedge of protection even further, and the nation will be turned over to a depraved mind (Romans 1:28-32). That’s where we are now. We arrived on June 26, 2015 when the Supreme Court legalized the abomination of same-sex marriage.

Our glory days are over. The sun is setting on America. No person can make us great again except Jesus, and we have rejected Him. We are no longer marching to Zion. We are racing toward destruction.

No one likes to hear such words. People have always hated prophetic voices that tell the truth. I don’t claim to have any special word from the Lord. I just know God’s Word and what it teaches about how God deals with rebellious nations.

You can vote for “the lesser evil,” but you are deceived if you believe that in doing so you are going to save our nation. The “lesser evil” could well prove to be the greatest deception.

  • Well all of this didn’t just happen over night. We have had many different presidents , some Republican and some Democrats. It is sad when we have some churches agreeing to marry same-sex couple or even discussing whether they should even go along with this. I have been shocked to read these kind of things in the paper or have seen on the news. So could it also be that our churches are failing as well by not wanting to OFFEND anyone by not preaching God’s word on just subjects that make their church members “feel good” instead of doing sermons on such as homosexuality or other sins that people do not want to hear??? And then some Christians who say they are supporting one candidate or another for one reason or another. Trump spews out hate, racism and divide. Those are not Christ-like at all. Hillary is pro-choice meaning she thinks its a woman’s right to choose about what she does concerning her health. (Actually I agree with that as well). People are quick to call Hillary a liar, but we for sure know that Trump is a big liar as well. I do not agree 100% with either candidate about what they say, but I do look at them both and compare my beliefs to each one of them and I have a choice that I will make because they are more in line with how I think. I really don’t think that politics is all the fault of what is happening, it could be that our churches are at fault somewhat to by not preaching the WHOLE BIBLE, going along with too much of the worldly things that are happening and some Christians not acting like real Christians by their actions and what they say causing others to question their beliefs and even turning them away from Christianity instead of being the example that would want others to become a Christian. I agree that there is way too many shows on tv and the movies they make that should not be happening, but they thrive because so many watch them and support them. Could a lot of them be Christians as well? Who knows but God. So for me, I say God will take care of it all and being a Christian I do find comfort in knowing when he returns or when I pass away, I have his promise of spending time with him because of his son Jesus who came and died on the cross for all who believe in him and accept that wonderful gift of salvation. That is the most IMPORTANT decision that any of us could ever make, not about who we vote for as president. Yes, I will vote as I think it is our responsibility to do so and I will vote for the one who is in line more with what I believe and who I feel is the most qualified. And it is God who will save us, not a politician.

    • Be careful when you say that you are pro choice and agree with Hillary Clinton on that. Make no mistake…Pro choice means you are pro abortion. “Women’s health issues” is simply another “term” for abortion rights. I believe that as Christians we should stand up and accept the uncompromising Word of God. Pro choice is like riding the fence. As Christians we should ALWAYS stand up and proclaim the Bible to be the truth, no matter if we suffer persecution, or worse. Remember what Christ did for us on the Cross. The Bible is very clear on the sanctity of life. God said that I know the plans I have for you……..He also knew us before we were formed in our mother’s womb….He knows every hair on our head…. Blessings to you

  • Dr. Reagan, you are so right! At the core of the fallen state of this nation, are churches who, for the love of money, stopped preaching the whole Word of God. ALL manner of sin is left unchecked in the churches as there is no accountability. They kicked the Holy Spirit out of their churches. Jesus doesn’t lead their churches, they do! They say NOT by the Spirit of God but by the power of the dollar we shall go forward. As in Washington D.C., so in the churches, money has become the power that moves them to action. With most Christians having joined the world’s ways, we are left with the terrible choice of electing the “lesser of two evils” to try and stem the tide of growing spiritual darkness, globalization and to save the Constitution from attacks. And while this worked, in a small way, in the past, it will not work any more. The nation is doomed because Christians refuse to live their faith. They have embraced the way’s of the world such as abortion, fornication, bribery, adultery, murder, drunkenness, drug abuse and witchcraft. They even have churches with pastors who don’t believe in Jesus! They, the spiritually dead, just work there for a living.

    • Thank you for speaking out. You are right. A lot of us do not want to hear the truth. It has always been this way throughout Human history. We have not changed nor do we see the need for it. Only those who follow Jesus Christ can see and understand this. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. Some of us still look to the light for guidance even though at times we struggle with reality. Then there are those whose lives are touched by everyone around them. They get lost in the crowded world of Satan. Only those of us who despite everything we go through; search constantly for that reassurance that only God can give will come out of this wiser and closer to their creator. As the bible and so many other Christians have said; “Come quickly Lord; come quickly.” Amen

  • Thank all of you for your honest true comments. To you I say read, trust, and live God’s Holy Word. Let the world see God in you. We believer’s will be maligned and prosecuted. We will suffer maybe even more than those being protected by Satan. See you in heaven in God’s love.

  • I have come a crossed your article inpending judgement for America. But I want you to know the entire world heading for God’s judgement . Thank you and may God use you in this last generation. I wish to get more of your sermons if you send. I’m blessed and I will use your message to warm my pekoe thru preaching and writing in the news papers.
