God’s Peace

I want to share a few thoughts with you about the fear that we see all around us today. People have been fighting each other at grocery stores for toilet paper and paper towels and things of that nature. There’s so much fear and so much panic buying.

Have you noticed that there are people who seem to be at peace with the whole thing? Have you taken the time to ask them why? I would daresay that if you asked them they would reply with, “Jesus is my Lord and Savior and I know that He is in control.”

You see, when you have faith in Jesus you know that God is on His throne, God is in control, that God still hears and answers prayers, and He still performs miracles. And, He provides a peace that you cannot find in any other way except through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let me give you an example of what I’m talking about. In Philippians 4:7 we find, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” What a tremendous promise that is!

If you’ve never received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, now is the time to do so, because Jesus is coming soon. God does not wish that any should perish. I would ask you to pray and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, admit that you are a sinner, and ask Jesus to become your Lord and Savior. And then, begin to get involved in a church where you can study God’s Word in Bible studies and grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I want to leave you with one of the most comforting Scriptures that you can find in the Bible and that’s Romans 8:28. It says this, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Would you like to have that promise? I think you would. You can find Jesus saying very much the same thing in Matthew 11:28-30 where He makes the comment that is so soothing and is one that only Christians can claim: “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
