Truth of the Creation: Worldview

Is your worldview Christian?

Lamb & Lion Ministries conducts a number of Bible conferences in the Dallas, Texas area each year. Our June 2010 conference theme was Defending the Faith.

Dr. Jobe MartinOne of our guest speakers was Dr. Jobe Martin, former dentist, professor and Evolutionist turned Creationist. Having clearly seen God’s eternal power and divine nature from what has been made (Rom. 1:20), Dr. Martin came to faith in Jesus Christ and a trust in the biblical account of the six days of Creation. He and his wife Jenna Dee have since formed Biblical Discipleship Ministries based in Rockwall, Texas to teach on campuses, classrooms and churches that we can trust the Bible’s account of the Creation and Jesus as Savior.

Dr. Martin’s topic at our conference was “The Truth of the Creation” (watch). He did a remarkable job showing how the Creation account is the only origins account that stands the empirical tests of time.

The Building Blocks of Your Worldview

Since the Lord Jesus is our Creator, then that gives Him the right to be the Redeemer, because only the Creator would have the right and the authority to redeem His particular creature, which is us.

Jesus said, “I am the way…” He is not one of many ways, He is not a way, He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. “No man cometh unto the Father but by me” (John 14:6). And so, the Creator is the Redeemer. Praise God for that!

I just saw last night The Sons of Issachar. They understood their times and knew what they should do about it. Let us, too, better understand our times and let’s get better equipped to go out there and do something about it.

Colossians 2:8 warns, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” “Beware lest any man,” what man? Could it be Darwin? Could it be Freud? Could it be Jung? Could it be Nietzsche? Could it be Stephen Gould or Richard Dawkins? “Beware lest any man.” Let’s put a face on those words.

When we talk about creation origins, then we have to say a little bit about worldview. What’s your worldview? It answers the basic questions in life: Does God exist? Is He good? What can we know for sure? Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? What do I value? (You value this, you gave up your time to read this. Praise God!) What is important to me? Is there purpose and direction to life? That is what your worldview answers. It is like a big iceberg. Most of it is under the water. As you think in your heart, so are you.

The building blocks of your worldview are the positions you take in these areas: theology, philosophy, ethics, biology, psychology, law, sociology, politics, economics and history. That is what we send our kids off to school to study. That is what we have always studied. Art and music come out of that, as well as all of them have mathematics. Those form your value system — what is important to you. That is the underwater part.

What do we see above water? Well, what you see is behavior. Your behavior is the outward display of what you really believe down deep in your heart. Your behavior shows your true worldview. If you have a young person who acts like the Devil yet says they are a Christian, they are probably still of their father the Devil. If you have a businessman in the community and he is in church every time it is open and yet he is a total crook, he is probably still of his father the Devil.

What are some of the anti-biblical worldviews promoted in Satan’s world system that are popular on the campuses and stealing up to 89% of our “Christian” youth. You’ve got your Humanists, and your Marxists, and your Post-Modernists, and your New Agers, and you have Islam and Christianity. If you are a Humanist, you are an Evolutionist. If you are a Marxist, you are an Evolutionist. If you are a Post-Modernist, you are an Evolutionist. If you are a New Ager, you are an Evolutionist. If you are into Sufi Islam, you are an Evolutionist.

Well, then, Christians should be Creationist if we are consistent. We’ll say, “My theology, yup, I believe in God. My philosophy, yup, there are angels, demons, and miracles that are supernatural. My ethics, yup, there is some things always right and some things always wrong.” Then, we get down to our biology, our Creation, and we just jump out of our worldview and proclaim, “I think Stephen Gould had it right. I think Charles Darwin had it right.” We shouldn’t do that and we don’t have to do that!

If we call ourselves Christians, we need to submit to God’s Word the Bible, starting in Genesis chapter 1. Some people will say, “Well, I can have Evolution and the Bible and the two don’t conflict with each other. Genesis and Evolution fit beautifully with each other.” By the way, fire and ice do not mix.

In the next segment on the “Truth of the Creation,” Dr. Jobe Martin reveals the purpose of Evolution.

  • Job Martin said; Colossians 2:8 warns, "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." "Beware lest any man," what man? Could it be Darwin? Could it be Freud? Could it be Jung? Could it be Nietzsche? Could it be Stephen Gould or Richard Dawkins?

Then there's Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Bob Buford, Benny Hinn, Simon Jarvis, — who? Who dat man Jarvis – – – Ah, that’s SIMON JARVIS false teacher of Robinswood — oops, make that ‘One church’, in Gloucester, England.

Then there is Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Robert H. Schuller, Brian McLaren, Doug Pagitt, Eugene Peterson,…

  • E.I.,

Your post almost sounds like an atheist trying to make some kind of anti-religious point. What is your point? I think I know but I suggest you make it clear for those who may not.

    On a separate note…

Adolf Hitler was one of the most famous supporters of evolution and the surivaval of the fittest. There are a lot of dead mentally and physically disabled people that attest to that. And dead "inferior" races, and dead pesky and filthy non-humans known as the Jews.

My point? Taken to it's logical conclusion, Adolf Hitler's view of evolution is the correct one. If you believe in it then you have to also support the survival of the fittest mentality even for the human "animal" and eliminate those inferiors I mentioned in the previous paragraph.

Yes, feel free to join Adolf Hitler in admiration of evolution…or should I say EVILution.

  • Hello Billy

If the atheist's think I am making an 'anti-religous point', they are quite right, and its interesting that we have something in common! 😀

Any doubts folks, please read the Scripture within the context. Thanks!
